5 Porcelain Keys

Description
Keys are really interesting creatures. They can be incredibly utilitarian, the epitome of form following function, but then there are the ones that follow their own whimsy. Sometimes the key is more interesting than what it opens. These keys may have limited function in terms of what they were designed to do, but many more options for what you can do with them. The website suggests wearing one as a necklace, then there's always the hanging option, but I'm sure someone can come up with many much more creative things to do with them.

Description
My mother has always had a thing for Russian nesting dolls. We had at least 3 to 5 of them at any given time during my childhood. So I have fond memories of those little wooden dolls, although I never really understood their purpose. Yeah, sure, popping them open the first time was a fun adventure, but after that, the excitement was gone. Well these nesting dolls serve a greater good. Reminding you about bits and bytes! These geeky nesting dolls come in bit, byte, kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte and terabyte sizes. Perfect for helping my technology-challenged mom keep them straight!

Good Water Cup
First to recommend
Description
It's a simple idea, but I love the execution. Take the bottom of a plastic soda bottle, and use it as the mold for a cup. The resulting cup seems familiar and still a bit alien. The shape also is a bit reminiscent of a tooth, and the red cross does lend a bit of a medical feel to it, so I concur with the folks at A+R that it's a great bathroom cup.

Laser-Cut Christmas Decorations
First to recommend
Description
I like my Christmas decorations to be simple and timeless. These laser-cut wooden snowflakes and stars and lovely and minimal. They add just a little bit of flair without being overly flashy. You'll have them for years to come, or they'd make great gifts. They come individually wrapped, so you can part with as many or few as you like.

Yes, I know, it's a bit early, but I was flipping through the Pottery Barn catalogue that just came in, and I was so taken by how cute these guys were! I just love the detail, like how each one in the set is designed to be a different tree so each one of their antlers are unique.

Description
Yes, okay, the name doesn't exactly belie just how sweet and detailed this print is. The cats all snuggled up under the intricate quilt. It's a lovely image, with a whacked name. It's still swell.

Ray Fenwick Bedding Set
First to recommend
Description
Lovely chocolate-brown sheet set, with a tasteful scroll pattern. An elegant edition to any bedroom, but when you know it was created by a talented independent designer from Canada, it just makes it that much cooler. Another thing Ray Fenwick made that I *must* have. Hell, even the bag the set comes in is cool.

Description
I'm not really sure what you'd use these for, but they're really interesting. They'd totally be a conversation piece. They look hyper-detailed and are apparently made to scale. You could set up a little toadstool forest on a shelf, or just place them serendipitously around a room and wait fr guests to ask about your leprechaun infestation. I'm not sure why, but I seriously want them.

Sea Urchin Box

Description
I have a strange fascination with sea urchins. One of my favorite things as a kid was when my mom would let me play with the sea urchins she used in her developmental biology class. They feel very odd when they walk across your hand, and as prickly as they look, they don't hurt. When they passed away, their shells would dry out and the spines fall off, leaving this delicate looking husk behind. Here someone has used the beauty of the sea urchin's shell to make a box to hold your precious treasure, or just adorn your favorite table.

SOLO pendant light

Description
I absolutely need this light for my place. It's designed like a microphone, and I totally love the pattern emitted from the gold windscreen. There's real attention to detail, and they even package it in soundproofing foam. It's got such great character. It needs to hang above my record player.
