Shopping List: Christina Ricci's C Magazine Cover - a list by MarkTownsend
Options for This Page
About this list:
Christina Ricci is the picture of style and sophistication on the cover of C Magazine. Mark Townsend was the stylist responsible for her ultimate sleek chic hair. Christina’s hair is straight to begin with so that gives her an advantage in wearing this style. The layers in the front add to the drama of the look (in case you’re looking to try a new cut yourself), but Mark assured us, this is something we all can tackle. This is Mark's shopping list for the look. See full steps at welovebeauty.com

Description
To mantain the quality of the Mason Pearson Hairbrush it is not mass produced. Most of the work is carried out by hand, using techniques pioneered and patented by the founder - Mason Pearson - over one hundred years ago and improved over succeeding generations.
"To keep Christina Ricci’s bangs from getting too much lift or curve and to give them that chic, straight look, Mark used a Mason Pearson brush instead of the round brush on her fringe." (via welovebeauty.com)

Matrix Vavoom Gold Heat Iron-in Control
First to recommend
Description
Second Mark used one of his most favorite products: The Vavoom Gold Heat Iron-in Control Protective Dry Mist from Matrix to give her hair the beautiful shine. “I took 3 inch sections of Christina Ricci’s hair and spayed each section with the Vavoom Gold Heat. This product has this beautiful gold color in it and is a great heat protector. I never leave home without it. It’s what makes the hair so incredibly shiny. Using a ceramic flat iron, I went over each section of hair from mid-shaft down, staying away from the top part of her hair to keep the body in the root.” (via welovebeauty.com)

FHI Heat Runway Pure Ceramic Professional Iron, 1"

Description
When we asked celebrity stylemaker Mark Townsend about his most coveted tool for styling the locks of “It” girls such as, Christina Ricci, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, he replied in an instant. “My FHI HEAT Runway Iron,” he said in a flash. “I can’t live without it. It gets really hot really quick. At first I didn’t know whether to believe the hype about ceramic irons, but now I am a firm believer. The ceramic gets the most even heat and just gets the hair so smooth. It’s so versatile I use it not only to straighten, but bending and styling as well. And it’s small enough that you can use it on bangs too. You can get really close to the scalp.” Nobody wants to send a star down the red carpet with an iron burn as an accessory.
