About this list:

Tomfoolery. Hijinks. Pranks. Jokes. Gags. Set ups. Winks. Escapades. Mass confusion. Chaos. Holy havoc. Propagation of paranoia. Nefarious, cheeky fun. This is Mead meets MacGuyver. This is amateur sociology. These are the ingredients for my mayhem. (Dedicated to Hillary. I miss you already!)

Piano Hand Gloves

Description

These are gloves that use sensors to record your hand tapping and then translate the hits into piano sounds. Who needs a baby grand when you've got these babies? (via RJJ)

Description

A company in Philadelphia makes these. I saw one for the first time last night at Low End Theory at Airliner in L.A., watching Daedalus play. (Killer set, btw.)

Totally blown away by the gear.

And this thing... well... let's just say it's like Lite Brite on crack.

It has no hardwired functionality - it's completely adaptable and versatile. You plug it into your laptop and use it as a controller synced up with the application you're running on the computer. You can just as easily use it to control samples and drums as you can as a game controller. And to see it all lit up in use, going nuts - it's sick. It's the coolest thing ever. (via Cody DeMatteis)

GO-Racer System

First to recommend

Description

These racers can be made in a variety of shapes... a computer, a football helmet, a beer keg... and even a toilet. Because... as I've heard, if you were really that lazy, you'd never have to get up.

Okay... wait a minute.... UGH.

Don't talk about these things....

The mechanism for imagining visual details through conversion of rogue comments is strong with this one....

Bathtub Racer

Description

As if this good, clean fun weren't enough, you can get an inflatable track to go along with them. No, I'm not kidding. A blow up track. SCORE!

Excuse me... Mr. Engineer, sir... can I have a sidecar for my rubber duckie??

Is anyone else reminded of Davy Jones in the introduction sequence for "The Monkees" when you look at this?

No?

Just me?

Okay.

Cassette Deck iPod Mod

First to recommend

Description

This is a tricked out tape deck modded into a car stereo iPod dock. I like that this would keep the iPod out of my console/cup holder/what-have-you.

No wonder consumer studies are showing that the cup holder number is such a huge bonus feature now when people are buying cars. You're naive if you think cups are going in those holders. Where else are you going to put your iPod, cell phone, wallet, smokes, etc., and no have to take your eyes off the road?

I'd like to see a car company do more than just put a GPS and an aux jack in my deck and call it a day. Where are we going to put our loose stuff? Figure it out, and you've got my bucks.

Beer Robot - Techeblog

First to recommend

Description

This little beer bot rolls your bottle into position, opens it, lifts it up, and pours it into your cup.

I'm betting the guy who designed this for his engineering class has brought it to every party he's been to since...

"Hey, dude! Are ya bringin' the bot? It's not a party without the bot!"

Print messages on toast

Description

This must be some kind of new trend, huh? This is a computer-controlled hot air gun. My issue? What happens when you'd like all of your toast toasted and not just the letters?
