Kasugai Kiwi Gummy Candies
5 people recommended this item
Description
I've tried the litchi (lychee), peach, and kiwi flavors and the Kiwi is my favorite. The individual wrapping for each piece makes it seem like a big deal to eat 2-3 of them which makes the package last longer.

Glico - Men's Dark Chocolate Pocky
First to recommend
8 people recommended this item
Description
There is this belief in Japan that men like less sweet things while women like sweet/creamy/fruity things. Thus, this dark chocolate covered Pocky is labeled Men's. A snack and a chance to ponder on gender stereotypes in another culture at the same time - a lot of entertainment in one little chocolate cookie stick!

Satsuma Mandarin Oranges
First to recommend
Description
Sushi cheff Ken, owner of Kiriko, introduced me to Satsuma Mandarin Oranges. I'm not sure which particular variety he gets (Owari, Silverhill, or Kimbrough) but they are amazing. I've not bought them online, but I am tempted and have provided one possible link. They are only available around the end of the calendar year, so grab them if you see them. Wait, I seem to remember the brand on the box was something like "Blue Jay"? I'll ask Ken and update this recommendation. (via Ken Y. Namba)

Pepperidge Farm Bordeaux Cookies
First to recommend

Description
I remember a time when I was a child that our family had a friend who drove a Pepperidge Farm delivery truck. He was a steady supply of yumminess and I don't care if it was expired product, damaged packaging, employee perks, or stolen goods. He got me hooked.
I can't pass up the Milano and Chessmen cookies, but my favorite has to be the thin, light, crispy, crumbly, crunchy Bordeaux cookies. Sure I buy the Girl Scout cookies--who can refuse the marketing tricks of that company no matter what the product?--but for packaged cookie perfection, it has to be Pepperidge Farm.

Americana Cream Style Root Beer
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
If you've experienced good root beer, you probably can't stand the bland national chain stuff they sell at the national chain grocery stores. I recently dropped by Galco's Soda Pop Stop here in Los Angeles and tried a bunch of different root beer varieties recommended by the owner. Americana was my favorite, probably because of the "cream style" which may keep me out of the True Root Beer Lovers Club[TM], but so be it.
I also enjoyed my dad's favorite which was from his childhood: Frostie Root Beer.
That said, I still have a lot of root beer to try, what with the 41 flavors offered at the Soda Pop Stop. (via Soda Pop Stop)

G Pure Energy Drink
9 people recommended this item
Description
I don't normally drink coffee or energy drinks but when a friend gave me a G Pure Energy a few days ago I tried it. I drank it in the early afternoon and didn't get to sleep until 9am the next day. Coincidence? Maybe, but I'm going to be very careful about when I drink my next G Pure Energy. (via notcot)

Jarlsberg Lite Cheese
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
Yeah you can pay lots for fancy cheeses with unpronounceable names and I'm all for that in the right context. But when I'm at the local grocery store and I need to replenish the "snack cheese" slot in the fridge, Jarlesberg Lite is my choice.

Chimay Blue
5 people recommended this item
Description
I have not had a Belgian ale I did not enjoy and Chimay Blue is by far the finest. Pick up a large bottle of Chimay Ale Péres Trappistes Grande Réserve at Trader Joes. Very fine value. It is bottled with a cork and it is recommended you use wide-mouthed glasses. (via BJ's Brewhouse)

Lavender Infused Honey
3 people recommended this item
Description
Thanks for the recommendation, Liz. My grandfather was a beekeeper when I was a child and I appreciate the many different varieties of honey out there. I was a bit worried that the Lavender would be overpowering, but this honey had just the right hints and overtones.
Unfortunately, it came to over $15 with shipping, so I'm going to have to make this 9oz jar last.

Sun-Maid Raisin Bread
First to recommend
Description
Every few years I buy a loaf of Sun-Maid Raisin Bread. Toasted and slathered with margerine while it's still hot and I'm transported back by one of my favorite childhood treats. Why do I wait so long between treats? Partly because my family could probably down one of these every day and partly because I want to keep it so special.
