Preserve Toothbrush - Recycline, Inc.

10 people recommended this item

Description

Sounds crazy that a toothbrush could be one of my favorite things, but I do love these brushes. They use old yogurt cups and recycle them into colorful handles for brushes (with new nylon bristles for the scrubby part). After the toothbrushes have been well loved and used, you can send them back to the company for recycling. They make plastic lumber out of them. How cool is that?

Jurlique Mens Shaving Lotion

Description

A few years ago, I traveled to South Australia for a photo shoot with actress Rosario Dawson. One stop was the Jurlique farm, an all-organic, biodynamic farm where they grew the herbs and flowers used in their amazing, all-natural products. I love the lavender shaving lotion; it soothes the skin gently and smells incredible

Fire and Light Dinnerware

Description

These are some of my favorite dishes I use everyday at home. This company---based in California---uses old windshields from cars and crushes them down to make these brightly colored dishes. My favorite color is the citrusy, tangerine one... but with so many to choose from, you can find your favorite color, too. They're strong, durable and--who would guess---green, too!

Call2Recycle

Description

Okay, this isn't a product you can buy, but when you ARE shopping, you should look out for these collection boxes. Bring your old cell phones and old rechargeable batteries (from cordless products like cordless phones and power tools) and drop them in the box for recycling. It's free and they'll get recycled into new metal products. You can find these boxes in stores like Radio Shack, Best Buy, Sony Style and Lowe's.

It's A Soy Candle Company "Pumpkin Pie" Candle

First to recommend

Description

My secret source is revealed! I once lived next door to a guy who made custom-made soy candles and sold them on the Internet. Even after I moved, I still order candles from his website. Check out the buttercream and pumpkin scent candles. They are ridiculously amazing. So many scents and colors to choose from! And they're green since they're soy wax; virtually no soot or smoke when you burn them and they have a longer burn time than paraffin candles. Tell them Danny Seo sent ya!

SIGG Sportbottle

83 people recommended this item

Description

The only way to put it is this: it’s simply ludicrous how many plastic bottles we go through every day. (In the U.S., about 30 million. Every day.) Add to that all the research detailing the dangers of plastics leaching into the water we’re drinking, and we’re creating both an environmental and personal health hazard. Aluminum bottles are a smart alternative, and for those of us who aren’t exactly into camping gear (i.e., me), SIGG offers a huge range of graphic, edgy designs that are both stylish and sturdy.

Simply Green Giving

2 people recommended this item

Description

This is one of two books I wrote recently about living green with style. The reality is, we all throw parties throughout the year---a baby shower, a housewarming, a weekend dinner party---and we wrap gifts all-year round, too (e.g. birthdays, Christmas, etc). I wanted to give stylish and EASY solutions on throwing the perfect party or creating the most beautifully wrapped gift, all using things you already have around the house. It's all about reusing and repurposing in unexpected and fun ways.

Method Window + Glass Microfiber Cloths

6 people recommended this item

Description

I asked a hotel housekeeper once what her secret was to get the rooms so clean, so quickly. She said it was all microfiber. Microfiber towels are literally millions of microscopic fibers that grip on to dirt and bacteria. Instead of pushing dirt around (like paper towels do), these towels soak it up and get almost every type of surface squeaky clean, quickly. Best part? They are machine washable, so you can use them over and over and over.
