Kidrobot's eponymous toys are always an exercise in "How awesome can we make this, and still afford to sell it?" and the newest Kidrobot is no exception!

Designed by vinyl artist extraordinaire Huck Gee, the detail on on Kidrobot 14 is just amazing. Solid, blocky shapes keep everything simple and recognizable but Huck's strength is his ability to drop something down to it's most basic and keep it recognizable. In this case, all you really have to let you know this is, in fact, the Kidrobot under all those ninja clothes is the shape of the eyes and the head fin.

High five to Huck and Kidrobot for another winning collaboration!

You can, seriously, get 4 or 5 feet off the ground with this thing. Take a moment, and let that settle into your fevered brain. Four or five FEET!!!!!

Just amazing. Pricey, but worth every penny!

Kidrobot - Smorkin' Mongers Series 1

Frank Kozik has been a long-time fixture in the lowbrow art scene. And with his huge influx into the world of vinyl toys, he's claimed a pretty nice amount of space for himself there as well!

The Mongers are a series of blind-boxed (box is sealed, you don't know which one you'll get) mini-figures depicting...well....food items smoking cigarettes. Ok ok, it's not all food....there is a hand grenade smokin' a butt, as well as a cigarette smoking a....cigarette. Weird, right?

Great sculpts, and small enough that you can start up a little collection without having to make much of a space commitment. Plus, they're dirt cheap!! Stick a few on your desk at work to remind yourself how badly you want that cigarette. Or to remind yourself why you quit. Or just to remind yourself that a watermelon that smokes is probably not a very tasty watermelon.

There is nothing more enticing or daunting than a blank canvas. Except, maybe, a blank canvas in 3-D. With arms. And legs. And a ridiculous amount of reputation for being the finest DIY vinyl toy on the market.

We just recently started stocking these, and they are so easy to sell! We've all had toys. We've all had toys that we loved. Now you get to make your own toy!? Too good to be true!

Except that it is. Kidrobot has made these with top-notch quality, and kept the figure itself simple enough to be open to a wide range of interpretation. With a little prep work, you can use pretty much any art supply you can find on these to customize them within an inch of their vinyl lives.
