Made from densely packed used magazines, this bulletin board screams cool, not recycled (though it is!)

S116 Solar-Powered Phone

First to recommend

Description

The first solar-powered phone. Too bad it's over $500 and only available in Japan. Ok, I should mention that it is "slightly" larger than the one I use, also.

RE-RUN MICROPOD DIAPER TOTE

First to recommend

Description

How does a parent compact the essentials down to the bare minimum when needed? Just like this! Made from recycled water bottles (PVC-free), the main compartment of the totes holds wipes, a changing cloth and two diapers. A fleece-lined exterior pocket protects a cell-phone and a zip-out side pocket fits a bottle or sippy cup. Ok, there you go! All you need for a short trip!

Includes wipe case and changing cloth.

Bedrock Industries Homepage

Description

They use 100% recycled glass to hand make tiles. They add nothing to it when it comes to them. Plus, they ship in 100% recycled materials.

The product is expensive, but absolutely stunning! (via Crib Candy)

Sanyo Eneloop 8 Pack AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries

First to recommend

Description

These batteries are the newest of rechargable batteries. As a hybrid, they have the power for high-drain products (cameras) and for low-drain devices (remotes, flashlights) - and have a comparable shelf-life of a traditional alkaline.
The HUGE benefit, is that when not in use, they can retain their charge for a ridiculous amount of time. One reviewer said he experienced a 26% energy loss in 6 months! Are you kidding me? I'm used to rechargable batteries lasting about 26 hours!
Definately worth investing in; however, this would also require a quality charger, which goes for about $40 on amazon.

Solar Powered Air Conditioner

First to recommend

Description

What a step in the right direction! A solar-powered air conditioner, YEAH!! It can heat or cool a 600 square foot room. It is still being tested at a McDonalds and by the U.S. Navy, so let's hope we see this out on the market soon. The company, GreenCore Air, produces the units in the USA with environmentally-friendly materials (what this means, I'm not sure!)

Wash Your Clothes for Free. Without Chemicals.

First to recommend

Description

Here's the deal, you stick these magnets in your washer and use no soap, which elimiates the rinse cycle also. How? Well, it makes sense.
I remember from my chemistry class that soap does not clean, it's the water. Soap just makes, well, it just kind of makes water wetter, which then enables it to get to the dirt better. Soap doesn't clean, water does. So, if these magnets can chemically do to water what soap does, then there is NO reason it wouldn't work.

The website is very straight-foward with a video that shows how it works. There is also a 90-day money-back guarantee, which I would assume people wouldn't even need. This would cut our cost of detergent and water, while eliminating un-necessary packaging, natural resouces in the production, and chemicals in our water. (via Treehuggr)

Sun Oven Solar Ovens and Enamel Roasting Pot

First to recommend

Description

I admit, this is more of a curiosity to me. However, perhaps it could be a viable option to outdoor grilling.

Sunlight enters through the glass door, while the black inside transforms it to heat. Bake, boil or steam similar to the rate of a conventional oven without ever burning.

Collapsible and only 21lbs. Ok, so maybe I'm convincing myself to get one now! How awesome for camping or the backyard!
