About this list:
Sometimes I feel silly giving people gifts that I know they won't use. This list is dedicated to items that are practical and useful for almost anyone.
Easy Quick Jumper: Cigarette Lighter Car Jumper

4 people recommended this item
Description
This is sooo smart, especially for women who are afraid to get under the hood. I'm not sure if it's strong enough to work with a completely roached battery, but it will definitely get you going again after you leave your lights on while you're in the store (again!). Not that I know anyone who would do that... (via Vat19)

USB LED Desk Lamp

Description
It looks like part of a spaceship. LEDs are cool because they last almost forever. LEDs that plug into your computer are even cooler. (via Vat19 LED USB Lamp)

Cookbook Stand with Storage + Recipe Card Holder
First to recommend
Description
The storage is nice, and a cookbook stand is always useful - but the Plexiglas cookbook guard is what seals the deal for me. Any product that expects you to be messy has a place in my home. (via Vat19)

In Sink Corner Strainer
First to recommend
Description
Considering the gross stuff I've seen in my sink after leaving the dishes a little too long, I'm not sure I'd place this thing as low as they did in the picture, but I love the idea of a strainer that sits in the corner of your sink like that.

Utensil Pot Clip: Dishwasher safe spoon holder clips onto most pots.
First to recommend
Description
This is a lot less icky than setting the nasty spoon on the countertop, and you don't get a saucer dirty, either. Plus, it could serve as a big paper clip in a pinch. (via Vat19)

Cup-A-Cake Cupcake Container
35 people recommended this item
Description
Prior to the Cup A Cake, I had to leave my cupcakes at home, leave them to tumble around in tupperware, or cover them in plastic wrap and lose half of the frosting when I peeled it off. The Cup a Cake grips the cupcake at the sides, holding the cake and its precious frosting a safe distance away from the top of the container. (via Vat19)

Umbra Conceal Bookshelf
58 people recommended this item
Description
I didn't "get" this bookshelf until I actually saw the video of it in action. There is actually a second, tiny ledge that holds the cover up so the illusion works. (via Conceal Bookshelf Video)

Edward Scissors: Because scissors shouldn't hide in a desk drawer.

Description
I am just crazy about big, beady eyeballs, and Edward Scissors totally fulfills my need to stare into a pair all day long. (via Vat19)

Recycled Floppy Disc Journal
3 people recommended this item
Description
I could probably make one of these on my own if I'd just spend a few moments digging through the garage for my old disks, but who knows - I may need those someday!! I'm just waiting for the old 5.25" disks to come back into fashion.
If you're in your 20s or early 30s, you probably played computer games on these as a child. (via Vat19)

Banana Bunker
15 people recommended this item
Description
This may be my all-time favorite fruit protection product (because we all know there are SO many of them out there). I've actually tried the competing product, Banana Guard, and the Banana Bunker was, in my opinion, vastly superior.
-Banana Bunker lets you see your precious cargo
-Banana Bunker looks super filthy
-Banana Bunker will hold almost any banana, while the competitor (in my experiment) could only accommodate about 50% of the bananas I tried. (via Banana Bunker Action Video)
