The Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers

Description

Worth it alone for my fav. Stones song of all time, Can't You Hear Me Knockin! The opening guitar is orgasmic (actually the whole song is). Mmmmmmmmm! This is part of what I like to call my holy trinity of Stones albums along with Let it Bleed and Exile on Main Street. Everyone needs to own this one!

Lions In The Street

Description

I am in major love with this band! Did someone say the Faces meet the Stones circa Exile on Main Street, yet add a contemporary spin?! WOAH (I say in my best Keanu voice)! These guys will rock your socks off. Plus, they have their first EP available to download for free (I bought it tho, because I feel it is important to support bands you like and show 'em some love)! Take that evil, evil Lars!

The Rolling Stones - Black and Blue

First to recommend

Description

A much underrated album from the Stones. Also important because this album marks the addition of my beloved Ronnie Wood as an official Stone. Memory Motel is such an amazing song. I love that Mick and Keef both share lead vocals.

Let The Music Do The Talking - The Joe Perry Project

First to recommend

Description

Joe Perry is one of my guitar idols. During his absence from Aerosmith in the late 70's/early 80's he released a few solo albums. This was his first one and I just adore it. None of the singers he had on the various albums are as good as Steven Tyler, but hey, this is not Aerosmith. It's the Joe Perry Project, and this is all about Joe and the guitars. He really does let the music do the talking. If you were ever in doubt of his guitar god status, check this out and see how he can stand on his own and shred!

Primal Scream - Riot City Blues Tour

First to recommend

Description

Riot City Blues was my absolute favorite CD of last year. It got Primal Scream back to its junky glam sound that I absolutely adore. And, let's face it, Bobby Gillespie is smokin' hot! Also, how can you not help but love a man who allegedly accused Coldplay of being boring. This DVD is not out until Oct. 9. That doesn't mean you can't pre-order!! I've already ordered mine, how about you?

Shake Your Money Maker The Black Crowes

First to recommend

Description

What an amazing debut album! People love to yammer on and on about Appetite for Destruction. Hey, don't get my wrong, it was amazing, but not the only amazing debut album that ever was. While Shake Your Money Maker might not be groundbreaking (although it sort of was in spandex and grunge filled 1990) it is down and dirty sexy rock at its best. To me its Jimmy Miller era Stones meets the Faces (my two favs.). What is not to love!? Every song is great and I do not skip a track (and trust me for me that is rare as I have the attention span of the turnip at times). If you don't have this classic, don't you think its about time that you rectify that?!

By Your Side - The Black Crowes

Description

I have recently rediscovered this amazing CD and it's all I have been listening to the past few days. The Black Crowes truly are one of the best (yet sadly underated IMO) American rock bands! Get this CD and rock the fuck out! Oh Yeah!
