Description

Red is such a vibrant color! And red really is one of my favorite colors year round, but especially in spring. I think it's reminiscent of poppies and that might be why I might be so enamored of it. This long red strapless dress with a gigantic white floral pattern is a stunner in the spring or in the summer. But I think I'd like it best by the side of a pool.

Description

This reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear (yes, I adore Gossip Girl). And who could blame me? Who wouldn't want to wear Blair's amazing fashion sense, elegant, old school and seemingly vintage, it's nice to see clothes being appreciated for being clothes. The cut reminds me immensely of the the white eyelet dress from early in the season. The black and white poppy fields feel very mod--and also, very spring.

Spring Garden Sheath Dress

Description

I was such a geek in high school (still am now, but that's another story). This dress reminds me of a greek chiton. Just like I used to wear to the annual classics banquet (yes, as in latin and greek). From it's very unstructured feel to the ribbon wrapping around the middle, this short little mini dress looks like it's built for a greek goddess. Perhaps Demeter with all the abundance?

And the yellow rose of texas....oops! I'm supposed to be talking about a dress. This particular yellow rose dress that caught my eye. It's so bright and spring-y, plus with the rose itself it's oh so fun! Yellow is always such a spring-y color. Baby birds, baby eggs and now you, baby. ;-)

In the winter I prefer the highly structured dark skirt, starched blouse, tights (wolford if I'm lucky) and heels. It's a very severe look, but also a very fitting look. I feel professional and snappy. Come spring and summer though, I'm all about the lighter than air sundresses. aired with strappy sandals on a casual weekend it makes dressing easy and fun again. Plus, it's so fun to be feminine.

I love the cut on this dress, the layers on the dress and the bright and yet pastel colors (hello orange! I love you).

Description

I think something about spring serves to bring us back to that childlike time of wonder and that childlike appreciation of colors. I never wear so bright and primary of colors as I do when it's the first blush of spring. Something like this Karen Zambos mini dress. It's bright and in primary colors (red and blue). But rather than looking like superman, it looks fun and festive (and like it should be colored in with crayons).

I'd love this dress over a pair of jeans that fight off spring's lingering chill.

VOOM Rose Top

Description

Remember that scene in '13 going on 30'? The line "flirty and thirty" reminds me of this top. The thing is though that everyone deserves a good cute top. And this cream silk top with baby doll sensibilities and rose decoration definitely qualifies. Though it's silk, I'm thinking it's more casual. Maybe stovepipe jeans or a skinny pencil skirt. It needs something to balance the free flowing casual nature of the top.

Description

Cold silver, bright turquoise crystals and dark grey pearls...i adore this bracelet. I rewatched the gossip girl episode 'The Handmaiden's Tale' the other day and this bracelet just seems like it belongs over a glove at a masked ball. Even better though, this bracelet seems like it could handle the daily wear circuit too. I'm thinking maybe with a nice float-y spring shirt or with a smartly professional white button up shirt.

So, when I first saw this dress I was reminded of those old curtains from the 80s. Normally I would have looked away. However, there was something about this dress, perhaps it was the belted waist or the design of the dress but I kept looking and the more I looked the more I liked. Maybe this 80s revival isn't as bad as I feared.

Spring is perfect for the nice casual dress and this silk scarf dress by Etro, capitalizes on the the sunny relaxation of spring and early summer. This dress with it's soft floral patterned bottom and contrasting geometric line top flows nicely and reminds me of days spent out at the farmers market, days spent just enjoying the spring air.

Remember that shirt Serena wore in the pilot of Gossip Girl? The one she wore with denim short and her green heels to visit Blair? This shirt reminds me of that. Its floral on the bottom and polka dotted on top. Plus, with the brown tie it makes it almost empire waisted. It's definitely a spring time shirt!

These shoes would definitely make me taller! I love pink and cream, especially with bows! And wedges seem to be such a staple, plus they aren't so fragile and precarious as other height defying shoes. They might be a little tall, but I am the short and so height is always awesome.

There is something very rustic about cream and green. It brings to mind blossoming flowers and a beautiful country side. I adore these shoes. Bright yellow with dark pin flowers and a little crystal detail on the peep toe...these pumps are a having a fun time and I feel like I should be too. A four inch heels means they aren't too bad walking in, though I wouldn't recommend a leisurely stroll in them.

I remember back when Dr. Scholl's started releasing their classic sandals in different colors. No one quite knew if they were cool or not. Personally, I love the red and white pair I got, but I would have loved any wooden sandal with red and white gingham. There sandal designs have certainly come a long way. And I'm kind of loving this sandal, it's a wedge and built by Dr Scholls, so it's bound to be comfortable. Plus, it's such a cute floral print.

Spring makes me want to dress in flowers and freshly blooming things. Things like these earrings. The softly colored lucite earrings bring a bit of spring to your ears. With their olive leaves, pink flowers and quartz combine to make drop earrings that won't overwhelm your outfit or you.

There is something that always captures my fancy about umbrellas. I don't know what it is, but I love them. I'm totally digging this vintage umbrella in orange and blue. With a floral pattern and orange and blue stripes, it's just the sort of umbrella that makes you stand out a bit from the crowd and it matches my vintage sensibilities quite well!

As far as decorative parasols go, I don't think I've seen something this pretty for a while. Yellow and blue flowers bloom all over the umbrella like raindrops would fall. It's a gorgeous design executed in gorgeous colors. It would only be good for sunny days, but with a umbrella like that I'd be willing to take that chance.

Mariposa - Recycled Cosmos Serving Bowl

Description

When I first looked at this bowl I had no clue it was recycled aluminum, it's so pretty the thought never even crossed my mind. I like the pretty little cosmos on the edge of the bowl, it'll be perfect for spring and summer barbeques and tea parties. Plus it's recycled so you aren't wasting more of the precious metal aluminum than necessary.

I like it when florals (normally the domain of spring and summer) sneak into fall and winter. And this dress with it's black and white print of flowers (and pretty silk bow) is perfect for fall even with the flowers. Also, I'm loving it with the black tights.
