Aigle Parcours Rubber Boots
First to recommend
Description
Heading up to the island of Sylt, in the North Sea, for the weekend you'd think I'd be worrying about which heels or sandals to pack. Instead I've spent a good hour of company time looking for these: the perfect rubber boots from Aigle. The German version of the Hamptons, Sylt is mostly dunes and beach, which translates to plenty of sand and, being up North, a good deal of wind and rain. These Aigle boots are watertight, roomy enough to pull up over jeans, and go very well with a plate of oysters and a bottle of champagne.

Classic Brown Rubber Boots

Description
Rubber boots on Sylt are an absolute must, but serious isn't a requirement. These shiny brown babies are a safe way to have a little fun without screaming for too many eyes to be on you. Strike a Kate Spade flair without going overboard.

Hunter Regent Boots
First to recommend
Description
A solid classic choice in rubber boot for Sylt is the Hunter Regent. They're comfortable with a shape that defines the legs and avoids looking clunky.
Goes great with jeans or riding pants.
For colder weather invest in either the custom liner inserts or make your own statement with some colorful knee socks that peek over the edge.

Barbour Jacket
First to recommend
Description
A Britrish tradition, these jackets are the brand to wear on Sylt. WIth the intermittent windy and rainy weather, it is no surprise that the mink coats of Munich never caught on here. The waxed fabric keeps out the elements and the stylish cut keeps you chic among the 'see and be seen' crowd.

The Original Elbsegler
First to recommend
Description
The winds on Sylt in the North Sea can reach gale force levels, strong enough to put your eye out or at least make you cry uncle. When heading up there for a getaway, it's wise to invest in some head gear.
This traditional Northern German fisherman's hat - the original Elbsegler - is a cute retro way to keep your hair under wraps.

Ladies Bubble Umbrella

Description
When the rain goes sideways, there are few places to hide. This bubble umbrella is a great way stay somewhat dry and still see where you're going. Great for any blustery location.

Grappa di Moscato Riserva 3,0 "Only Sansibar" - Double Magnum (3L)
First to recommend
Description
Sansibar is the legendary restaurant on Sylt, where everyone who is anyone dines when they're in town and everyone else books their table a year in advance. Considering the image and clientelle, this double magnum bottle of grappa is both reasonable and quite tasty. If your party of 8 'nobodies' doesn't manage to get seated, you can grab one of these big babies and head for the sand dunes to drown your sorrows.

Sansibar "Flos Salis" Portuguese Sea Salt
First to recommend
Description
Part of "being there and buying the t-shirt" is being able to let everyone else know you were there too. A great keepsake to bring home for the friends and family is one of the Sansibar spice jars. I highly recommend the Portuguese sea salt (pictured) and the pepper mix - a special combination of peppers and spices for a really unique and spicy sprinkle (not pictured).

Sylter Mussels at Gosch
First to recommend
Description
A serving of mussels, a baguette and a bottle of white wine, standing cliffside at Gosch is top on my list of activities for Sylt. Get a table outside if it's dry. It doesn't taste half as good without the wind in your face.
