Grey Goose Vodka
7 people recommended this item
Description
Here's the thing about Grey Goose: I like it just fine but I don't feel good about drinking it. Why not? Perhaps the question is better posed "Pourquoi pas?" and directed toward a French friend, who will tell you that personne in France drinks the stuff. Not like the marketing people from Grey Goose who prominently display the French flag on the bottle want you to believe. So, sure, I'll pour Goose over rocks and splash a little soda in there. But it makes me feel bought and sold. And not in a good way.

Krups Allegro Espresso Maker

Description
Here's the thing about espresso machines: their simplicity is what makes them genius. At least for me. When I need coffee stat because it's 9:00 and I wanted to be at work at 9:00 but I'm at home because what I REALLY wanted to do (and did) was ride my bike for an hour or so and go to the farmer's market and take an extra great shower, I can't abide by all the steps that making press coffee requires. With a simple espresso machine, i dump a mug of arrowhead in the top, throw a scoop each of Illy caff and decaf (no need to get carried away!), pop the mug underneath the drip (carafes, who needs 'em) and run around trying to get everything in order, and then i have a mug of steaming chewy black gold to run around with moments later... and i didn't have to touch the thing or watch it or anything.
I have friends who have high tech espresso machines... and their complicated temperament is equally as vexing as French pressing.
Just use a coffee machine, you say? As. If.

3 Vodka

Description
Three reasons I am mad about 3:
1. Flavor: clean but not without character.
2. Hangover: my pal at Wally's Wine and Spirits claims you can drink as much as you want and not get half the hangover you get with other vodkas. And he'd know (man, I want his job).
3. Sporty-ness: There are really two aspects to the picaresque nature of 3. On one hand, it's basically a sports drink, it has no sugars and is gluten-free (and, oddly enough, vegetarian?!), and i would totally hydrate with a 3 rocks. On the other, how badly do you want to clip the top to a climbing harness and hit the crag? I have a friend who says there's a window after drinking a redbull and two shots of espresso when a human can climb pretty much anything... add a shot of 3 and I think it'd be safe to remove the "pretty much" from that statement.
...Also, they have it at our corner store for $2 LESS than Stoli... Chin up, my smooth Russian pal, you know how the saying goes, "one is silver and the other's gold."

How on on earth has one roamed the earth (or even visited family) without a va-va-Veuve traveler on hand to overcome all manner of voyage-related turbulence. Oh, that's right, a duffel of bubbly could be part of a nasty terrorist plot and, therefore, is champers non gratis on planes. Pity.

While I am decidedly not a football fan, I do appreciate how stamping my guy's favorite team's name on a BBQ set theoretically leads to delicious grilling happening in the house on Georgia game days. Go (grilled) Dawgs!

Altoids Chewing Gum, Peppermint, Bulk Package, 25-Pound Bag
First to recommend
Description
Anyone want to go in on a 25-pound bag of Altoids peppermint gum, the best gum ever, with me? It's only $300!
Wait, don't laugh, that's a really good deal - only $0.75 per pack of Altoids. And you get 4-freaking-hundred packs of Altoids in one earth-lovin bag. 400! Think how popular you'll be. You'll ALWAYS be the friend who has a piece of gum FOREVER.
I hate those wasteful little tins they come in enough that I'm tempted to get the whole thing myself so I can share with everyone and no one has to buy them.

Club soda, I guess this is goodbye. It's not you, it's me. I'll be frank, I've found a completeness in the companionship of Camitz bubble vodka that has left my personal feelings for you rather, well, flat.
I'm willing to share custody of Ice, you can have weekdays but I want to chill out with weekends and holidays.

Stainless Steel Sipping Spoons, Set of 6 - Sur La Table

Description
Stir, sip, repeat: This, friends, is how to enjoy an unstrained cocktail... like my newest favorite concoction/creation, the Venice Mule. Keep the Moscow Mule's vodka and lime (bitters are optional here), but rather than than ginger ale go with crushed ginger root, soda water and simple syrup... and whatever else you can find in the fridge (lemongrass, chili pepper, strawberry, peach, cilantro, mint and lemon have all made special guest appearances). That's the Venice part: half hippietarian, half scavenger, still a little bitter.

Home tap for your mini keg. Does anyone other than Heineken make mini kegs of this size? I feel like I've seen them for some Japanese beers... I feel like pouring friends beers from this thing might earn me decent tips. I wonder if they have a backpack version...
