Handkerchief by Deadly Squire
First to recommend
Description
"Tie little knots in the four corners of this handkerchief and you'll have a do-rag to make any hip-hopper jealous. Dry a lovers tears with it, blow your nose in it -- just don't do both at once. Pair it with one of our matching ties and look sharp. On hot days lawyers wipe their brows with these for effect while addressing juries. Vive la handkerchief!" (via Design*Sponge)

Soviet textiles: designing the utopia

Description
"The book looks at a series of bold, innovative designs that were generated by a group of young designers as propaganda in the Soviet Union between 1927 and 1933. As an experiment it failed because the comrades preferred their traditional floral textile prints. This book sets these designs in the historical and cultural context of the Soviet Union." Ulrika is a designer with a background from H&M and Gant - both good schools from which we bring new thinking in terms of collection and coordination. Wilhelmina has been an account director for communications consultants. Which is where you learn that whatever youâre selling needs to have the right price and to arrive on time" (from Bantie website)

Description
Robert Stewart, the Scottish designer and artist, was a contemporary of Lucienne Day and one of the few designers she admired. A prolific worker, Stewart produced paintings, tapestries, graphics, ceramics and murals but it is his textile designs that have been the most influential, in particular those produced by Liberty, Pringle and Donald Brothers in the 1950's. Stewart's work has recently been investigated in a major research project at Glasgow School of Art, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Board, and is the subject of a new book, Robert Stewart, Design 1946-95, by Liz Arthur ISBN 0-7136-6410-X (from http://www.classictextiles.com)
