The Bush Dyslexicon: Observations on a National Disorder
First to recommend
Description
This might be the funniest book I've ever read. Mark Crispin Miller, a New York University professor of media studies, has fashioned a devastating compendium of President George W. Bush's grammatical gaffes, syntactical shipwrecks, mind-boggling malapropisms and simply dumb comments.
It took me a while to read this hilarious book because I found myself re-reading in complete disbelief many of these flabbergasting ramblings.

Baryshnikov: In Black and White
First to recommend
Description
Baryshnikov in Black and White presents, in over 175 photographs, the remarkable breadth of his achievement between the years 1974 and 2000. From his legendary roles in the classic ballets Giselle and Don Quixote, to his work with some of the world's greatest contemporary choreographers, Baryshnikov is shown here in both rehearsal and performance.
I saw this book at a store in West Hollywood and it is absolutely stunning. The beautiful black and white are far more powerful than if they were in color and Baryshnikov is a marvel, a living legend, and "Baryshnikov in Black and White" shows us why. A fabulous gift for the holidays!

Superstar: Victoria Gotti
First to recommend
Description
Switched at birth, neither Chelsea Hutton nor Cassidy English ended up having a happy childhood. Chelsea, the biological daughter of a beautiful but insane movie star, is raised in abject poverty by the overly religious former starlet Maria Hutton. Cassidy, sent home with the deranged Lana Turmaine and her movie mogul husband, witnesses Lana's murder, and her testimony lands her dad in prison.
A chilling tale of revenge set in glitzy Beverly Hills and the movie industry and written by Victoria Gotti. I usually do not read fiction, but this one seems particularly appealing since it is set in my kind of town and got very good reviews. On my wish list for Christmas!

Description
I've always been a big fan of Hugh Heffner because of his philosophy and lifestyle. Though feminists and some people may not agree with this notion, this book is fascinating in its photographs and stories behind each of the Chicago and "Hollywood" mansions that Hef has lived in.
A great book and a great gift.
