Amazon: Lessons of a Lipstick Queen by Poppy King

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

Australian lipstick aficionado Poppy King started out with a whim, and followed it through until it became a booming business. Although this is her story (and we may not all achieve the huge success that she has), it does seem to be true that latching on to what you love to do can make all the difference in the longevity, if not the prosperity, of your career. A great gift for the new grad or anyone contemplating a career change.

Clinique Happy Custom Bottle

First to recommend

Description

Make someone truly happy with a bottle of "Happy" fragrance customized with her favorite photograph. I ordered a custom bottle for my sister this Christmas, and the results were simply stunning. More importantly, she will treasure the bottle long after her last spritz of the fragrance has evaporated. (via Clinique)

Designer Shower Caps

Description

Okay, I admit it: I use a shower cap. I have long hair, okay ? And on those days when I don't really need to wash it, I like to use a shower cap. But I would prefer not to look like something out of a 1950's shampoo commercial. And even if you haven't ever thought about wearing a shower cap before, you just might think about purchasing one of these festive designs for yourself. You can thank Spoon Sisters for thinking about these essential grooming details.

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Blue Mascara

Description

I never thought I would be caught dead wearing BLUE mascara but it actually has a very subtle effect. As an added bonus, it makes your eyes appear just a bit brighter. Just one of my many favorites from Benefit Cosmetics. (via Benefit Cosmetics)

GO SMILE - Zen Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth

First to recommend

Description

I never thought I would spend more than a few dollars on a tube of toothpaste but Go Smile's products are definitely worth the investment. Go Smile Zen is my favorite. It tastes great, visibly whitens my teeth and doesn't irritate my gums (as other whiteners are prone to do.) Go Zen ! (via Space.NK)

Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel

Description

I have been using The Body Shop's elderflower eye gel for nearly a decade. And I simply cannot find anything else on the market that works as well or feels as good under my eyes.

I use it every morning before I apply any make-up. I also use it whenever my eyes need a little pick-me-up. I have found it to be a more long-lasting and reliable solution to under-eye circles than concealer. (via The Body Shop)

brilliant shampoo

First to recommend

Description

I have been using Aveda hair care products since before my son was born. Nothing else makes my hair look, feel and smell as good as their products do. Now, since the birth of my son, I have had to work a little harder to get my hair to look presentable and, well, not dull. Now Aveda has introduced the shampoo version of their Brilliant hair gel and pomade. I cannot tell you what a difference a drop of this product will make in the condition of your hair, whether it is long and curly (like mine) or short and straight or somewhere in between.

While I have always loved Aveda's devotion to creating plant-based products, I am even more impressed that they have also are the first beauty company to go totally green. Their manufacturing facilities are completely wind-powered. They definitely have my business. (via Aveda)

Dani Moisturizing Hand Cream

Description

Hands down, my favorite hand cream. Subtly fragrant, moisturizing but not a tad greasy, made using botanical extracts, I use this every night to keep my hands from looking my age.

MomSpit - Universal No-Rinse Clean

First to recommend

Description

Available in small (for travel) and large (for home) sizes, this cleanser is a non-alcoholic, icky-free way to clean up those inevitable spills and splooges you encounter every day as Mom or Dad. A kinder, gentler alternative to hand sanitizers. (via Pacifier)

OPI - INDIA COLLECTION - "MonSooner or Later" nail lacquer

Description

It's warm and spicy and inviting. A bold choice for nail color, and not one I would usually consider, but I am head over heels for orange right now. (via OPI)
