The Office - Season Five

Description
I just love this show. Particularly that it's sans laugh track. I don't need to be cued to laugh. If it's funny, I'll laugh...it's simple. Craziness abounds, it's like live action Dilbert. Also, I have a crush on Jim.

Television Zombies: Blog and Podcast

Description
I know Tina, the lady of the TVZ crew from Etsy, etc. She's talked about this podcast for a while, but between not knowing what a podcast was, why I should listen to them, or how to find them, I didn't check it until recently. HOOKED!
Tina, Jeff, Chris and Chuck dish about TV, sci-fi and genre shows and movies mostly. The tangents into family life, funny (unrelated) stories, are what keep me coming back...I admit to not being much of a sci-fi fan and I don't have cable. Check it out. It's pretty cool.

Life Is Beautiful

Description
Saw this yesterday with my dad. He's a great one for picking up little known movies from the library...that often prove to be busts. So I was leary. But this was excellent. The ending was sad, not where I thought it was going at all, but beautifully told.
About a man and his princess...and their little boy, about being thankful for everything, making the best of whatever life throws at you, loving those who persecute you. Had to recommend.

The Real Minerva: Mary Sharratt

Description
I got this from the library and posted about it on my blog, Not Rachel. The following description is excerpted from that post.
It takes place in Minerva Minnesota and tells the story of a mother and daughter, a mother and daughter, and mother and daughter: Barbara and Penny, Cora and Phoebe, and to a lesser but no less tragic degree, Hazel and Irene....
The part that saddens me is the way the town looks down on Barbara and Cora is pretty much the same as it would be now, only people may be less vocal about it. Progress, where art thou?
I'm sure someone could give this a more political literary analysis. I chose to take it as it is, not looking for hidden meanings or inferences. It's beautiful and a little haunting. I enjoyed it.

I'm the child of math majors who meant at work...as computer programmers. I find this comic strip hilarious. It's not about the art...it's about the laughs.

Well, I loved Hayden Panettiere from Remember the Titans. She rocks in this, too if a little melodramatic. And I love Milo Ventimiglia, too. It is well thought out, conclusive without being predictable. I just wish they'd kill Sylar already. (via troubadour718)

I bought this for my little brother for Christmas last year and ended up fighting for playing time. Sometimes we played together. I usually suck at video games, but the controls on this are easy but engaging. I love it.

In it's own, action-movie, impractical stunt, zany way, this show is good.
