Jane Eyre bored me when I read it the first time in school. But the depth and darkness of the novel is brought to gripping life by this BBC adaptation. The BBC has a tradition of excelling in its adaptations of Victorian Novels, but Jane Eyre is possibly one of the best they have done, ever. If you really feel like shutting yourself in for a day or a night of feeling good film time for yourself, Jane Eyre comes highly recommended!

I. Love. This. Movie. It's sooo much better than the one with Hugh Grant. I'm sure there are things unlike the movie, but I can let that go because everything from the settings to the costumes are just majestic. Plus, it's Austen...hard to go wrong.

When we were little, the brothers and I, our parents rented and watched this movie with us a kazillion times. I should thank them. I'd probably still watch this. Sometimes I'm in a cartoon-y mood.

A good family movie...one of the animated talking animal variety.

Description

When I saw this movie for the first time a few summers ago both my brother, my viewing partner, and I thought it was new. Couldn't figure out how I hadn't seen any reviews of it. Recently did a theater version, so it's a tale dear to my heart.

It's a timeless family story. A musical but well-timed. Classic!
