Game, Set and Match - a list by hanahula

About this list:
Professional tennis, much like professional golf, is played year-round, with players following the warm weather from Australia to France to Wimbledon to the USA with oodles of smaller tournaments in between. And while some may think that watching tennis is akin to watching the grass grow on the court, I love nearly everything about the game, its etiquette, dress code and larger-than-life player personalities.
Qualifications:
I just gave myself an upgrade from a junior racket.

Lacoste: Long Sleeve Bold Striped V-Neck Cardigan

Description
Although the navy and white is a classic for spring, the long length of this cardigan puts an entirely fresh spin on the cardigan. Cute with a skirt and great with jeans, this is a great dress-me-up/dress-me-down closet staple.

Description
In addition to recently founding "GreenSlam" (an organization inspiring environmental awareness within the sports industry), Billie Jean King has been an amazing example of grit and determination on and off the tennis court for nearly her entire life (and all of mine.) And we could all use a little uplifting wisdom during this uncertain and unsettling period in our lives. Thank you, BJK ! (via GreenSlam)

Description
It has been a while since the concluding matches of the 2008 U.S. Open but I wanted to note the historic accomplishment of men's finalist Andy Murray, the sixth-seeded Scotsman who defeated the man on top, Rafael Nadal of Spain. And he went on to compete against Roger Federer in his first Grand Slam Final. Good show, Andy ! I wish you even more magic moments on and off the court in 2009 !

With this dress on your side of the net you will only need to stand with racket in hand to look like you mean tennis business. But the real fun, of both the dress and the game, begins once you start swinging. Wear, win, repeat.

Nike: Women's Tennis Wristbands
First to recommend
Description
I do not know if the yellow sweatbands she wore on her wrists gave her that extra edge she needed, but Serena Williams did it. She defeated Dinara Safina, won her 10th Grand Slam title and climbed back to number one in the world of professional women's tennis. Catch a replay today, Saturday, January 31, 2009, on ESPN2.

Dinara Safina may not have won her match yesterday against Serena Williams, but she was a great (and great-looking) sport. Of course, coming in second at the Australian Open and now reigning second in women's professional tennis are amazing feats for a 22-year-old athlete.
