So I was laid off and the only way I could deal with it was to make light of the whole situation. Make fun of the stereotypes, be a little angry, and generally be sad. I loved my job and really thought I was making an impact. I was looking forward to growing and learning - making this my knock out gig right out of grad school... but life has different plans.

So, this recession means you got laid off... it is time to cut back and for me that means top ramen. Though the prices have gone up on our good friend (it is like 12 cents now instead of 10 for a buck) it will keep you alive while you look for a new job. (via Nissin)

Description
Chocolate and fruit. Probably the best thing for the unemployed. You can convince yourself you are eating healthy (the fruit) but still get fat (the chocolate).

Now that the recession has left me without a job, I think I will just park myself in front of a television like this one and think about how I've spent way too much money on two degrees in the past 5 years and how it has left me watching daytime tv thinking about how I should probably quit everything ever and become a dental assistant.
