About this list:

“Dance you shall,” said he, “dance in your red shoes till you are pale and cold, till your skin shrivels up and you are a skeleton! Dance you shall, from door to door, and where proud and wicked children live you shall knock, so that they may hear you and fear you! Dance you shall, dance—!”

Qualifications:

Product Guide, but really I just love red shoes.

Cole Haan Aurora Air Sling (Claret Patent)

Description

Red, shiny and everything I love, these shoes looks just nice and low enough to walk around in normal weather. Granted there is snow on the ground today, so I'm wishing for a return to the safe streets of dry weather where I can wear shoes like this and not slide on an ice rink. The red patent, excuse me claret patent sling backs could, if you live in my world where red shoes are always a win, be worn year round. Or you could live like the rest of the world and pair them with a decent holiday outfit.

adidas by Stella McCartney Thala (Scarlet)

Description

The first I heard of Stella McCartney was in Vogue. There was some article about how she was the next big thing and how she did ghetto fabulous back when everyone was doing grunge. And then she exploded and was everywhere (whether it was her or whether it was the Vogue effect is negligible), these red flats are comfortable and stylish. The mix of material makes me want to pair them with a dark denim and sweater. A warm winter outfit.

Tartan Peep Toes - Heels

Description

I'm not Scottish. Though some days I wish I was only so I could wear tartan without feeling like a total fraud. Much like argyle I think there is something in a strong pattern that draws me to it like a toddler to candy. These tartan heels not only have a bold red tartan, but also a black and silver buckle. Combining the shiny with the super shiny with the tartan.

Christian Louboutin Clichy Painted pumps

Description

Graffiti on walls is destructive. Graffiti on public artwork is annoying. Graffiti on shoes some how makes it okay. These graffitied red and pinks shoes have pink, red and orange graffiti that cur up the side. It's very 80s still graffiti (ah, back when it was still cool). And with their basic pump design can be subtly slipped into your everyday wardrobe without drawing excess attention to them.

Stuart Weitzman cherry patent leather ankle tie 'Charleston' pumps

First to recommend

Description

While I love winter, the biggest kick off to summer is when cherries come out to play. And in these dark when I leave in the morning and dark when I get home days my mind is drawn to the tart days of early summer when there are fresh cherries. Days when cherry patent leather pump with lace up ankle ties can be brought back out. The brightness of the patent leather, the smoothness of the satin-like tie, these shoes make me feel insanely feminine.

Stuart Weitzman dark red patent leather 'Speidel' sandals

Description

Bright red and skinny, perfect for dancing. Which, given the red shoes fairy tale is utterly appropriate. The dark red patent leather sandals are perfect for a night out. The ankle strap helps provide a little stability when you are out dancing and the high, but not too high that your feet are tired before you begin. The chain links that drapse up the foot are a nice touch too (but I have a think with contrast, open and restrained all in one shoe)

Charles David red patent leather double strap sandal

First to recommend

Description

When I first read about foot binding I, for some unknown reason, didn't understand that it bended the foot...I thought it just stopped it from growing. Once I found out the truth I was no less intrigued, though it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. My friends have tiny feet (size 5s, who wears that!) I have largish feet. Shoes like this red patent leather sandal with buckles and double straps make my feet feel petite as a size five.

Luciano Padovan red patent leather peep toe pump

Description

This shoe makes me feel like a Venn diagram. I love red shoes, I love shiny shoes and I love peep toed heels. These shoes sit at the intersection of my three loves. And the red patent leather pumps have a bow that wraps them up in such a pretty package.

Marni red leather circle cut-out flats

First to recommend

Description

I've been wearing heels too long. It feels just plain odd when I wear flats. Which to me just means I have to wear them more (don't want my tendons shortening). These red leather ballet flats are just perfect to spice up a winter outfit. The circle cut outs make them more interesting (because you know, what this needs, more cowbell, err...details).

Stuart Weitzman ruby jeweled satin 'Tonight' sandals

First to recommend

Description

I can't think of a better way to describe this shoe than call it the cuppy heel. It's a nicely shaped, fitting heel that hits your heel like a hug (well that might be a bit of an exaggeration). Needless to say, I enjoy shoes that have this type of heel and see far too few of them. Add into it the satin ruby rich color and jewel on the peep toe and you have a shoe that might be my holiday shoe, or skipping a head a holiday, could be my valentines day shoe.
