It took me two years to love Sufjan Stevens. And boy do I love his angelic sensitive choir boy voice.

Apologies to the Queen Mary by Wolf Parade

Description
I don't know how to explain this album. I know I hated them live, mostly because they played their set in a "dance remix" speed. But despite their shortcomings, this is one of my favorite albums of 2006.

Description
Small, cheeky and feisty. America needs to meet the self-proclaimed "Smallest midget in the game." Recently signed to Jay-Z's Def Jam records, Lady Sovereign is making a break into the male-dominated rap game.

Description
The title should be enough enticement. It's a funny juxtaposition considering Yo La Tengo's over forty, a little on the doughy side, and look like they should be carrying puppies. I love them.

So This Is Goodbye by Junior Boys

Description
I saw the Junior Boys live and I was completely blown away by the lead singer. Why you ask? Because he was a chubby grizzly bear of a man wearing a pink tuxedo shirt and his speaking voice was like Jack Black. A pleasant and quirky surprise considering his singing voice is like whipped cream.

Description
Many might have first heard about Peter Bjorn and John from their famous music video. I think I'm the only one not on the boat with the video here. But I love the rest of the album. As my friend likes to put it, "They're like the Beatles. But on way more LSD."
