One of the coolest music sites I've come across to date. It allows you to roam around and "discover" bands you like- then help to finance them. If you're in a band, you can sell "shares" to get to the $50,000 goal and record a professional album. Very nicely done site. Great premise, great execution.

Enter this truly amazing step in virtual tourism called “GeoSim” www.geosimcities.com. It is the largest virtual model of a city and the singular representation mirroring real-life Philadelphia, their first test city.

Great for city planners, architects wanting to see how a property integrates into the local landscape or just monetarily challenged tourists. GeoSimCities has managed to render out nearly the entire city for you to explore and virtually travel through.

From the current store fronts and exact architecture, even down to the garbage cans on the street, you can wander around cities with other live virtual tourist and get a pretty good idea of (at the very least) what that place looks like.

They are set to launch in a dozen more cities very soon, until then, welcome to Philadelphia. (via Yanko Design)

If you haven't been to this site before, don't bother reading the rest of this. Just go now. You'll love it. Really.

What is it? It's an online treasure trove (a free one) of ALL of the recipes from Bon Appetit and Gourmet magazines. Just for starters. Create an account to avail of the online recipe box storage feature.

Of all of the recipe sites, this one is in the top three for ease of navigation, search features and additional site content. I've used it for years and it's always the first place I go when planning a menu. Best of all, it allowed me to clear space in my cabinets after years of collecting old issues "Just in case...."
