About this list:

In the perfect life that happens in my head, I have a lovely home with a nice yard for entertaining. I live somewhere warm, where I can do a good chunk of my living outdoors. These are the things that decorate and fill that dream space.

Portable Patio Heater

First to recommend

Description

Not the nice tall variety, but much more sensible for a small space such as a deck or urban backyard, this reasonably priced little heater can keep your guests nice and toasty when you INSIST on a bbq in April, long before it's actually warm enough to do so.

Target Fire Bowl

First to recommend

Description

I have copper version very similar to this little stainless steel number out in my backyard. I love it - it is so perfect for impromptu s'more cravings, when cooking your marshmallows over the gas stove just isn't authentic enough. I've spent many an evening cozied up around the fire outside, drinking and relaxing with my friends. It's as close to camping as I can get some of them to go.

Wood Slat Double Lounger

Hot damn I'd like to have this on my pool deck. A few really so my friends can lounge too.
Note to self: get a pool with a deck, and no, the bathtub doesn't count.

Also available in single sizes, chairs, stools, tables. . . .

Sydney Single Lounger & Cushion

Description

Is it wrong to love something just for its magazine layout photo? Because hot damn this makes me want to go to Greece NOW.
Or at least somewhere warm where this could be a comfortable reality. Spring may have sprung, but it's still chilly here in SF and this is where my fantasies take me.

Wrap it up, I'll take it. Yup, the whole thing. The loungey couch, the table, the "rug", the lanterns, the curtain, the hanging shell things, the palm tree, the beach, the beautiful day. . .

Bubble Wall Vase

Description

I would live a row of these down my dark hallway - to fill with brightly colored flowers, maybe freesia because they smell so darn good too.

Hanging Garden Planters

Description

Babylon's got nothing on this clever idea. This would be perfect for my herb garden (which I kill and have to completely replant every time I ever attempt to have an herb garden), to keep it safe from snails and other ground based plant eaters. Plus it could help block a less than stellar view. Too bad I moved upstairs and no longer have an overhang area from which to suspend this.

Paper Lanterns

First to recommend

Description

I love the festive mood created whenever paper lanterns are strung around. Be they round, plain, patterned, it doesn't matter. As long as they can be illumniated and there's lots of them I'm a happy camper. I have a ton from Chinatown, but they're not wired with bulbs and are therefore relegated to mostly inside decorating schemes.
Knowing me I'd be too lazy to bring them in and it would rain and they'd be ruined. Doesn't stop me from wanting them.

Globe String Lights

First to recommend

Description

Another case of me loving the entire photo. The lights, the umbrella, the lake. . . . bring it.
These lights are one step up from fairy lights, and never fail to make me think of fun. Times like these I wish we had fireflies.

Portable BBQ

3 people recommended this item

Description

I love these. You can barbecue anywhere you like with a portable BBQ - I love to take it to the beach. You can carry all of your stuff in the bucket until you're ready to start firing up the charcoal. A great way to turn any hike or beach day into a delicious evening as well.
