Description

I like tea as much as the next guy but you have to REALLY like tea to purchase this teapot...that or an uber-design fan. This version will run you $250 without tea. You can get a "cheaper" version for $50 less but if you're going to buy something like this, you might as well go whole hog.

Shoes: Embellished Notecards

First to recommend

Description

A fabulous gift for yourself, a friend, a hostess at a holiday party.... I love that these notecards are packaged in a shoebox!

from the site:

Women’s footwear varied more in the 20th century than in the entire history of fashion. The great designers balanced form, function, and fantasy to create some of the most beautiful shoes ever made, even adapting styles from the past with a contemporary sensibility. Housed in the Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the four sensational originals depicted on these notecards are highly imaginative works of art. Amusingly brought to life with faux-suede, sparkles, or rhinestones, the shoes on these notecards will please even the pickiest fanatic. The envelopes are lined with a patterned shoe motif.

5 each of 4 images, 20 cards per box. Boxed with 20 lined envelopes in a foil-stamped miniature shoe box. 5 in. x 3 1/2 in.

Ruben Toledo “History of Fashion” Tote Bag

First to recommend

Description

I love trolling around the Met site for unique gifts. Here is an interesting one for the fashionista on your holiday shopping list....

from the site:

Cuban-born artist and fashion illustrator Ruben Toledo was inspired by objects in the Museum’s Costume Institute to create the witty illustrations on this shiny vinyl tote bag. The history of fashion parades around the border, and iconic styles such as Dior’s New Look and the little black dress are featured in the center. Toledo (born in Havana, 1961) is a renowned sculptor, illustrator, fashion chronicler, and critic. His illustrations have appeared in top fashion magazines and journals around the world, including the New Yorker, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Town & Country, Paper, Visionaire, Interview, and the New York Times. His work has been exhibited in The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the textile museum at the Louvre, and his collaboration with his fashion-designer wife, Isabel Toledo, was the subject of both a book and a museum exhibition titled “Toledo/Toledo: A Marriage of Art and Fashion” at The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Vinyl. Height 9 in., width 8 in., depth 4 1/2 in.; strap length 14 in.

Priority Pass VIP Airport Lounge Access

First to recommend

Description

What an AWESOME gift idea for the travelista on your list! An annual fee grants you access to over 500 International (100 Domestic) airport VIP lounges and gives you the option of paying per visit to bring an additional guest. What does that mean? Well think "free Internet, drinks and snacks" for one thing. Comfy chairs, private bathrooms for freshening up.... oh so many yummy perks to make airport travel more luxe.

Love it!

Gingerbread Birdhouse

Description

Why should the tree inside your house have all the fun this Christmas? Add some festivity to your yard as well!

Or be REALLY creative and hang it from your tree with a jewelry gift inside! A little bird told me there might be diamonds inside....

And what an awesome hostess gift....
