Eden Foods Brown Rice Vinegar

First to recommend

Description

Another left over from my macro days. This vinegar isn't as strong as most vinegars. Good salt substitute and great for flavoring soups or vegetables. (via Eden Foods)

Eden Foods Shoyu Soy Sauce

First to recommend

Description

I really like Eden brand soy sauce. Its a brand I trust and have been using for a long time. You can buy various organic and low sodium sauces from them. And its macrobiotic if you're intersted. (via Eden Foods)

Heinz White Vinegar

Description

Hey, why am I recommending vinegar? Have you thought of all the uses for vinegar, and all the products you could replace with just one bottle? Not only is vinegar great for cooking, you can use it for nearly any cleaning task. The EPA recommends using vinegar as a safe, non-toxic replacement for many household cleansers and even for some beauty products. Vinegar cleans and disinfects. It dissolves mineral buildup, kills mildew, polishes and deoderizes. It can be used as a rinse aid in the laundry or on your hair, or all by itself to clean windows. You don't need dozens of individual products cluttering up your cabinets and polluting your home and body. Reduce your reliance on mainstream chemicals by replacing them with vinegar.

Tabasco Pepper Sauce

First to recommend

Description

When someone says "hot sauce", this is the brand that comes to mind. Its the hot sauce that was in my house growing up and its still a staple in my kitchen. Some hot sauces confuse saltiness with actually hotness. Tabasco burns. It doesn't have a lot of body so I use it in dishes rather than on my food. I use it in my bbq sauces, chili etc. Must have!

Cholula Hot Sauce

Description

Coming from Southern California, this is one of the very few luxuries that I still have now that I am in New York (NY doesn’t know what Tapatio is!!!). Cholula is one of my favorite toppings for everything from eggs to tamales. (via nrogers)

Frank's Red Hot Sauce

First to recommend

Description

I have to start of by saying that Franks hot sauce is not hot. HOWEVER, having said that I will say that it is the BEST sauce for making buffalo wings. Franks hot sauce is flavorful and salty. If you want to increase the spicy- ness, I suggest adding tabasco sauce to it (especially for the wings). I eat Frank's hot sauce for the flavor, but don't expect too much of a kick.

Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard

First to recommend

Description

I'm doing away with ketchup on my fries and switching to Grey Poupon. Try it! Next time you order fries. This mustard has a really spicy kick to it. It slightly burns the corners of your mouth if you eat too much. Thats why I like it. Its got ZIP!!!! This particular mustard turns sandwiches up a notch. Its also good if you want to make your own honey mustard or other sauces/ glazes.

Joyva Sesame Tahini

First to recommend

Description

Since hummus can be expensive, I like to make my own. So I use Joyva tahini and dried chick peas/ garbanzo beans that I soak over night. A little sea salt, a clove of garlic, some sesame oil and lemon juice. Done. (via Food Service Direct)
