Chocolove Chocolate Bars
First to recommend
Description
take high-quality dark chocolate, mix with innovative texture and flavour combinations, and whee! you've got Chocolove bars. the cherry & almond is amazing, with the crunchy almonds and chewy cherries perfectly setting off the smoothness of the 55% dark chocolate. try the orange peel, crystallized ginger, or raspberry bars -- the tartness of the fruit makes the chocolate flavour explode. plenty of other varieties abound, but if you start with these, you can't go wrong.
plus, there's a love poem printed inside every wrapper -- so you can get cultured while you indulge... or make your feelings very deliciously tangible for a special someone.

Nantucket Chocolatier Cranberry Creations Chocolate Covered Cranberries
First to recommend
Description
just got back from a trip out to Nantucket...sure, the seafood was great, but these chocolate-covered cranberries are INCREDIBLE. the combination of handmade dark chocolate (or milk, or white) with the tartness of the locally-harvested cranberry is to die for. just be careful -- since they're so tiny, it's easy to eat a whole bag! you can order from the website if you can't make it out to the island...

coppeneur chocolate bars
First to recommend
Description
this is possibly the best dark chocolate bar i've ever had. it's from a family plantation in Ecuador, but the distribution company, Coppeneur, is German. they also feature chocolate bar flavours like applestrudel bourbon, pumpkin caramel, and chili whiskey, to name a few. unfortunately, i have only found these in Germany, or online at "Choco Therapy" (see link). if anyone knows of a U.S. distributor, please let me know!

Nutella

Description
When my first son was very little, he was such a fussy eater that I couldn't get him to eat anything. Enter Nutella. Now, 10 years later, it's still pretty much all he will eat.
And I can understand why, really. This stuff is addictively good. So sweet, so chocolaty, so nutty. It's great on toast, great on bananas, great on ice cream or strawberries - the possibilities are endless.
We keep a premanent supply in our cupboard - my son (ok, and me too) totally can't live without it.
