About this list:

Qualifications:
I'm broke. But maybe not that broke.
Eames Molded Armchair Rocker for Kids
First to recommend
Description
I would hate to suggest that one of the best things you can do for you child would be to expose them to Eames design at an early age, but I suppose the thought has crossed my mind. This junior version of the iconic bucket rocker, particularly in lime, makes an already fun design about as cute as it can be.

Atocha Design Record Cabinet
First to recommend
Description
This record cabinet is pricey, but if you've got hundreds of pieces of vinyl that you'd like to see in something other than a stack of crates, you might just be willing to shell out. The cabinet itself is very pretty and is available in maple, walnut oak, or bamboo. Each of the larger drawers holds 95 records, and the smaller drawers will hold 75 CDs, and the piece is customizable to your media needs.

Air Traffic Runner
First to recommend
Description
The reason you never use a table runner is that they're all so boring, which makes the engaging print on this Air Traffic Runner all the more appealing. Designed by Christian Rathbone, this wool piece is handwoven and hand dyed with natural vegetable dyes.

Esque Awake Bird
First to recommend
Description
You may recall Esque's Sleeping Bird lamp, which, elegant as it is, looks like a dead bird. This Awake Bird puts a positive spin on the design and succeeds as a sculptural paperweight. Made from recycled glass stock, the piece stands a full 11" in length. Designed by Andi Kovel, Awake Bird is limited to 500 pieces, and proceeds benefit cancer research.

A great looking hanging lamp, this Alhambra Oval Pendant from Luzifer is made from handwoven, transparent polypropylene. When lit from inside, the geometric surface is textured and reminiscent of Moorish architecture. At two feet in height, the lamp commands attention without being overbearing.

Luzifer Mini Mikado Lamp
First to recommend
Description
Lit up, particularly in its colored versions, this mini version of Luzifer's Mikado hanging lamp looks like some strange sea creature. The shade is comprised of two wooden veneer sheets fanned out into a diameter of 27.5". The lamp is available in seven unique woods.

Luzifer Cactus Lamp
First to recommend
Description
An abstract approximation of a cactus, this Cactus Lamp, designed by Miguel Herranz for Luzifer, creates diffused lighting through coverage from natural wood veneer strips bent over an interior fluorescent bulb. Several woods are available (check out the cherry version at the merchant), and the piece is sculptural enough when not in use.

Luzifer X-Club Wall Lamp
First to recommend
Description
The X-Club wall lamp by Spanish design studio Luzifer is pretty versatile and feels as much like an item of decor as it does a functional lamp. The diffusing surface is complemented nicely by natural wood on the sides in several different varieties to suit your interior.

Karim Rashid Kurl Shelves
First to recommend
Description
It's a decent argument that the majority of Karim Rashid's design doesn't work as anything more than plastic crap that looks edgy in Target. But I have to say I'm really impressed when it does work for its mix of accessibility, unconventional utility, and its futuristic feel. This Kurl shelf set is made up of identical curved glass pieces held together with silicone and stainless steel. Incredibly versatile, you can see this working anywhere from a bathroom or kitchen to a stylized living room.
