About this list:
These are the albums that I would buy again if I lost my CDs, and my MP3/OGG copies, and my backups of copies. Thanks to all my friends who introduced me to these groups.

I drive. I code. I listen to music.

Description
I think the inspiration for this collection was a wide variety of people and places. the fact that diplo constructs such unpredictable mixes gives a new meaning to indie music. Every track is exciting and evokes a different emotion, whether it be the desire to dance or even to create your own music. you go diplo!

Whitesnake Live: In the Shadow of the Blues

Description
I'm only through disc 1 so far, but I had to recommend this on ThisNext. This album totally rocks! Whitesnake just released this double live album a few months ago, but this is top quality classic rock. I'm listening through my headphones and I've seen a couple coworkers give me strange looks--I just can't sit still listening to this music. (Or am I singing out loud?)

St. Elsewhere: Gnarls Barkley

Description
Just in case you were in orbit or on a deserted island for the last year you probably heard "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley more than once. Made up of uber-innovative producer Danger Mouse and equally inventive soul vocalist Cee-Loo, Gnarls Barkley took modern music to a new level in 2006 that no one else has come close to reaching.
It's playful, compelling and like nothing you've heard before. (via gnarlsbarkley.com)

Clandestino by Manu Chao

Description
Great mix of world music with a strong latin foundation. On this album I think Chao sings in English, Spanish, French, possibly Portuguese and apparently he knows a few other languages that aren't on this album. (via Michael Cohen)

The Very Best of Era by Era

Description
I've been enjoying my new Enigma albums, so when Last.fm and Amazon both thought I would also like Era, I picked up this "best of" compilation. So far, it's a hit with me as I love Gregorian style chants with club beats. It did take a bit to get used to the occasional singing by the "Annie Lennox" sound-alike, but the rest of it I loved immediately. (via Last.fm)

The Animatrix Soundtrack

Description
Harder electronic music by various artists (some famous). I don't remember if this really was the music used in the Animatrix DVD, but it really doesn't matter. Afteryou rip the CD, don't be ashamed to delete track 3 or move it into another album; it really doesn't fit.
