Sound Garden by JVC » Yanko Design

2 people recommended this item

Description

Imagine, miniature trees popping out of your speakers. A very creative idea indeed. I can sort of wrap my mind around the structural concept - just different compartments. However, I wonder about the effect that the sound waves would have on the health of the plants themselves. It could just be a matter of the type of music you're playing through them, or the volume at which you're doing it. Ah well, a cool gift idea none the less.

Description

I started designing my own gardening apparel because I couldn't find products I wouldn't be embarassed to wear. Everything was so bland, cheesy (in a bad way), and lame. This shirt is simply stated whether you're a gardening junkie or you just like dirt. Or both.

Go Zero Plant-a-Tree Charitable Contribution - Gaiam

First to recommend

Description

Zero out the carbon impact of shipping your Gaiam order, and do something simple yet significant to help slow global warming. Your contribution of just $2 helps our partner The Conservation Fund® to plant new forests that absorb thousands of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through its Go ZeroSM program. Over its lifetime, each new tree planted by the Fund will absorb more than one ton of carbon dioxide. That's enough to offset the emissions resulting from shipping a 200-pound package from Los Angeles to New York. 100% of your donation goes directly to The Conservation Fund - the nation's top-rated charity for low administrative costs to plant trees through the Go Zero program.

Gaiam does not receive a percentage or any compensation whatsoever, and The Conservation Fund is a cause you can trust to maximize the environmental benefit of every dollar you contribute. Your Go Zero contribution is fully tax deductible. For information about tax deductibility of your charitable donation to the Go Zero program, please email The Conservation Fund. (via gaiam.com)

Soothing Scents - Plow & Hearth

First to recommend

Description

I know, I know... At this point you have seen a million windowsill herb kits. However, in my opinion this one is a bit different. It's designed with aromatherapy in mind. Literally, grown to soothe the senses.

Plow and Hearth's Soothing Scents system includes three high-quality Ferry-Morse Seed Packets: sweet-smelling chamomile, mint and lavender; galvanized pots, instructions and a gift tag.

Looks great in the kitchen, bath, office - anywhere! Attractively boxed and extremely affordable for gift-giving.

I'm looking into one of these for myself! (via plowhearth.com)
