I might have to go the way of Sandra Lee and make my entire kitchen pink - pink linoleum floor! pink curtains! pink potholders hung on my perfectly princess pink refrigerator! pink apron to protect my pink gingham check dress over pink patent leather stiletto heels! - just so I can put a pink ceramic hot chocolate set on my pink and white tile countertop! I usually don't like things that are only good for ONE thing (aka the "uni-jobber"), but sometimes, fashion counts as a feature.

Don't you DARE put those gently boiled baby new potatoes in a food processor to make mashed potatoes! No matter how crunched for time you are in preparing for that dinner party, you absolutely MUST mash potatoes by hand. I am hot for soups this season, and an immersion blender is absolutely essential for pureeing solids in the broth to make a thick, creamy soup. It may not be quite as smooth as pouring the entire contents of a pot into a blender in batches, but it sure beats the mess of the blender AND the pouring.
