I mean honey, if I'm making ice cream in my pink KitchenAid, I have to serve it with a matching pink ice cream scoop.

Description

The ultimate low-tech kitchen tool. Makes perfectly even, thin slices of potatoes, onions, apples and your knuckles. Definitely the best thing I learned from Iron Chef.

Zojirushi NP-HBC18 10-Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer with Induction Heating System, Stainless Steel

First to recommend

Description

this isn't quite the ferrari of rice cookers, but i'd put it up there around...a silver porsche. zojirushi is my favorite working animal - a tiny Japanese elephant that cooks rice, and in this case, keeps it warm with an induction heating system.

Cook for the Cure, Presented by KitchenAid

21 people recommended this item

Description

I had had my eye on the KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer in pink for ever, and I finally have it! The mixer is pink, naturally, but it's even more important that proceeds from the sale of these pink mixers go toward the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

My mixer (her name is Hellooooo Kitty) is sitting on my countertop and though she's pretty in pink, the girl has some juice. She can whip egg whites and heavy cream from 0 to 90 in 2.7 seconds.

Or something like that. (via the delicious life)

all-clad stainless steel roasting pan

First to recommend

Description

don't let the clean-up convenience and pocket-change price of disposable aluminum roasting pans con you -- they just aren't strong enough for your voluptuous beauty of a bird. a heavy roasting pan with a rack might cost your wallet, but save your sanity.

oxo good grips potato ricer

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

you could get the squiggly masher, but that is a uni-jobber (like unabomber, but worse because you're wasting your money) because it can only be used to make "smashed" potatoes. a potato RICER will make soft, fluffy, finely mashed potatoes so that big chunks won't knock out Grandpa's dentures. PLUS, you can use the ricer later when you're making gnocchi.

OXO Salad Spinner

20 people recommended this item

Description

For anyone who doesn't have a Salad Spinner, you need to put it on your wish list. Honestly, it is amazing. It used to take me hours to dry lettuce and other leafy greens, with a Salad Spinner it literally takes minutes!

silicone oven mitts

8 people recommended this item

Description

because they're sturdy and can resist temperatures of up to 675 degrees farenheit, you won't break a nail nor burn a fingertip when you're taking your roast out of the oven

pyrex digital meat & poultry thermometer

First to recommend

Description

sorry girls, roasting a turkey isn't like finally meeting mr. right -- you won't "just know." which ever recipe you're using to roast your bird, you'll only know when it's done by reading a final temperature on a thermometer. the pyrex digital thermometer also has a timer that lets you know when the bird is finally all worked up into a hot sweat so you don't have to keep checking in. not sure that's the case with mr. right.
