Manicure Set : Rubis Switzerland
First to recommend
Description
This has been my favorite manicure kit for so long now.
I first found this brand through their tweezers. The tweezers are fairly easy to find in beauty supply stores. The rest of the line is more difficult to find, but I have had success at cutlery stores. I have the kit pictured, but I keep the scissors at home and swap them for the matching Rubis nail clippers
I love the case. Slim and elegant, it hold just what it should and doesn't take up a ton of room doing so. I'm on my third or fourth set mostly because I sometimes forget (stupidly) to put this in my checked luggage- some airport personnel don't like the pointy nail file.
This kit runs just under $100.

Aveda Wooden Hair Brush
First to recommend
Description
I have been a fan of Aveda's products for more than a dozen years. (Except for the one time I went in for a trim and the guy gave me layers and beachy curls- argh!)
I think I have had one of their large wooden paddle brushes since they first came out with them. But that brush is huge and doesn't always make the best choice when traveling. I am so glad that Aveda made a smaller version. Now I take this with me whenever I travel. I style my hair, brush my hair, straighten my curly hair with it and it doesn't take up a ton of space in the suitcase or drawer.
Like any wooden brush the more you get it wet, the more it will flake and warp a little over time. I combat this by trying to dry off the handle when I'm done with it (if I have used it on wet hair). I do clean it as well to keep it in tip top shape.

Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish
2 people recommended this item
Description
I only discovered this product a few weeks ago and can't live without it!
This scrub is a mix of pure brown sugar crystals, an assortment of nourishing and healing oils, and Fresh's signature sweet lemon scent. I use it at least once a week in the shower and it really helps moisturize and exfoliate my skin much better than lotions or creams.
If you're near a Fresh store, drop in and try this out on your hands.
At roughly $65 for just over 14 ounces it ain't cheap. But a little can go a long way and the results I get haven't been matched... et.

Sonia Kashuk Hydrating Lip Balm
First to recommend
Description
I was wandering in Bloomingdales' earlier today and stumbled across their Space NK boutique. One of the first things I was drawn to was a lip balm by Sonia Kashuk. Sonia Kashuk? In Bloomie's? I thought her brand was sold at Target. Same brand, same products, same prices. You choose where you want to buy them.
But I digress. I saw a color I had to try on. A very dark plummy brown called Violaceous #06 It comes in a tube with a bit of a slant edge applicator. It goes on sheer, not very dark at all. A lovely touch of color. And it feels like a very smooth and satiny, not waxy or tacky. Very much like a balm. It even has SPF 14.
The best part? Iit's less than 10 bucks.
p.s. The pic is not of the color I bought- it's the only pic I could find. I want this color too!

Lipstick Queen : Medieval Lipstick
First to recommend
Description
I think this might be my new favorite everyday lipstick, replacing Clinique Black Honey. This lipstick has won numerous awards and it deserves every single one!
Medieval reminds me of BeneTint and some of the other reddish lip tints, but in a balm form. Made with Vitamin E, it nourishes your lips while giving you a hint of dark cherry. Everyday perfection!

Lipstick Queen : Black Tie Optional

Description
Yeah. It's lip gloss... and it's black. Basically it darkens up any shade lipstick. You can use just a little bit to darken it a little... or you could slather it on until your lips are black. I don't think I would use this on top of another lip gloss- somehow that just doesn't seem like it would work very well.
It comes in a lipstick tube version and a lip gloss pot version. The tube version is $18 and the pot is $22.
I tried on the pot of SHINE gloss over Lipstick Queen's Medieval and love love love the look.

Komenuka Bijin : Hair Shampoo
First to recommend
Description
I have heard a number of good things about this shampoo but never felt the need to shell out $30... until I received a sample and actually tried it. I now understand why this shampoo has been written up in just about every major women's magazine and why celebrities swear by it.
Supposedly this shampoo is good for all hair types. All I know is that it does not make my naturally curly hair frizz, and my hair feels clean and fresh from the ends all the way to my scalp.
See if you can get your hands on a sample and try it for yourself. Amazing stuff!

Clinique Makeup Almost Lipstick: Black Honey
7 people recommended this item
Description
This is the one lipstick that I never leave home without. I love lipstick and buy/try as many as I can, but this is the one lipstick that will ALWAYS be in my purse. I happen to love the more sheer lipsticks and lip glosses, which is what this is, but I have friends that wear more matte lipsticks that love this as well. It looks good on everyone I've ever seen try it and is good for both day or night. If you've never tried it- try it now!

Stella McCartney Perfume :: Stella Night And Day Refillable Purse Spray
First to recommend
Description
I've been using Stella by Stella McCartney for a few years now and I can't tell you how many compliments I've received. The rose and amber notes create an unmistakable scent that I happen to love. I thought it couldn't get better. And then Stella McCartney came out with Stella Absolute Rose, a more intense version of Stella. What to wear? I switch it up- sometimes wearing just the original Stella, sometimes just Stella Rose Absolute. Sometimes I layer the two. This kit happens to come with two vials of each scent, so it's definitely a win-win situation.
I was a huge fan of the original Stella roll on, but this beats it by a mile. In addition to the 2 vials of each scent, this kit comes with a deep purple / aubergine metal case for the delicate glass vials. I kept chipping the original roll on vials and I didn't want to carry one of the bigger bottles around in my purse, so this was the perfect solution. The only thing I don't like is that because the atomizer is metal, it weighs a ton. But I'd rather have the extra weight than have spilled perfume in my purse.

Fresh Pomegranate Conditioning Hair Rinse
First to recommend
Description
I am so completely in love with the smell of Fresh's Pomegranate Conditioning Hair Rinse! I walk by my bathroom closet and smell it at least once a day (that I'll admit to).
It's a little pricier at $24 for 8.8 ounces, but it works like a charm. I found that it's not the best detangler in the world, but it is a fantastic conditioner. It leaves my dry, curly hair soft and smooth and shiny. My favorite thing to do though is work a small bit of this into my hair while it's wet as a leave-in conditioner.
