Description
1. SkinCeuticals Daily Sun Defense SPF 20 ($30): This company cares about your skin and they prove it with an exceptional product to help prevent sun damage. Skinceuticals also donates a portion of the proceeds from this sunscreen to The Skin Cancer Foundation. Save your skin. It’s a win-win.
2. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer, Dry-Touch SPF 55 Sunblock ($8.99): This super sunblock doesn’t leave a sticky finish but is sweatproof and waterproof for hours. Great for sensitive skin and a smart item to keep in your purse or car at all times.
3. Lancome Flash Bronzer Gel ($26): If you’ve searched wide and far and tried every self-tanner, you will love this product. For your face, this gel produces fast, but never freakish, results. It’s an even tan that looks natural, feels good and is good for your skin.
4. Dr. Hauschka Sunscreen Cream for Kids and Sensitive Skin ($27.95): In true Dr. H fashion, this product is a holistic take on sunscreen with natural ingredients and skin-loving things like avocado oil, quince seed and macadamia nut oil along with titanium dioxide and an SPF 30.
5. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer ($29.50): New for summer, this oversized compact provides a natural glow without the sun and a big mirror for perfect application. With a hint of shimmer.

PlasmaCar

Description
Why: You don’t plan on buying your kid a car until he’s at least 16 (if he’s good), but you might change your mind when you see a PlasmaCar in action. OK, so it’s not a real car, but kids as young as three can cruise around the neighborhood without having to worry about rising gas prices.
That’s because the PlasmaCar is completely kid-powered. No pedals or batteries—all it needs is a driver to turn the steering wheel from side to side, and then physics takes over.
The PlasmaCar is simple enough for my two year old, who has been giving driving lessons to his playground friends, but it’s built so parents weighing up to 220 pounds can enjoy it, too. Sure, my husband and I probably look silly zipping along the sidewalk in it, but the stares are worth it (they’re just jealous).

Stash and Dram Flip Flops Do Double Duty on the Beach
First to recommend
Description
What: Reef ”Stash“ and ”Dram“ flip flops for cards, cash and booze.
Why: If you are looking forward to beach days but like to travel light (and hide your snack bar money) then the ”Stash“ sandal from Reef is for you. With a pull-out tray in the heel big enough for keys, cash and credit cards, there’s no worry about theivery or just plain stupidity when you realize you’ve dropped your keys into the sand. Good luck finding them.
Meantime, the ”Dram“ sandal (just for men) has a little removable mini canteen in the heel with enough room for a shot ‘o liquor - or mouthwash I guess. Both are cool looking, durable and SO this summer.

Cool Cover-Up and Carry-All by FLOAT
First to recommend
Description
What: Beachwear from Float
Why: So you found that perfect ... or nearly-perfect bathing suit. Congratulations! The hard part is over. Now tell us, what are you wearing over the suit? Your husband’s over-sized T-shirt? A who-knows-how-old terry romper?
If it’s time to upgrade your beach look, check out the pretty and practical designs from Float. I like the bold Napali print on the Castaway Hooded Cover-Up. It’s pretty enough to go from the sand or the pool, to the boardwalk for shopping or lunch. The material is soft and light, and the flattering style has elastic at the thigh and not at the waist. There are other styles that offer more coverage for cooler beach days, and all have the signature silver Float charm.
You can really pull your beach style together with the extra large beach tote. There’s room for all your beach gear, and it’s hand washable.
Price: $44 to $130
