Fox Racing Shox Talas RLC 130
First to recommend
Description
All round fun fork. Versatile. Adjustable between 90 mm – 130 mm. I have this one on my Marin Attack Trail bike – which has a rear suspension that adjusts between 4-6 inches. The Talas RLC a great complement to that bike.

Hope Disc Brakes
First to recommend
Description
Disc brakes on a mountain bike is essential for rides with long descents. Disc brakes have great stopping power, don’t fade need less maintenance and move a lot of the rotational weight off the rim and into the hub (thus faster wheels). I have used various brands of disc brakes but I like the engineering of Hopes Mini Monos.

WeeRide - Centre-Mount Child Seat
First to recommend
Description
My wife and I are avid mountain bikers and parents. Center mounted child seats are essential if you want to ride off road since they don’t change the balance of the bike as much as rear mounted seats. This child seat has allowed us to ride off road with our daughter since she was a year old.
I wrote an article about riding with your toddler

Giro Animas Helmet
First to recommend
Description
The helmet is the most important safety item that you can wear. I’ve always liked Giro helmets for the design, light weight and number of vents (leading to a cooler head). They also have a great crash replacement program. I’ve broken 4 helmets over the past 10 years. Giro helmets have saved my life.

Description
The ultimate cross country race fork. I have this one on my single speed. It has an inertia valve so it’s a ridged fork on the climbs and a plush fork on the downhill.

Fox Racing Shox 36 VAN RC2
First to recommend
Description
I have this on my big bike/freeride machine. Beefy 36 mm stanchions and a 20 mm through axel make this a very solid fork and minimizes flex. 160 mm of travel gives a lot of coil spring plushness. This fork allows me to do a 4 ft drop without flinching. Fun, fun, fun.
