Keep a Child Alive "Time to Love" limited edition Toy Watch

First to recommend

Description

It's no secret I have a watch fetish. I'm also passionate about good nonprofit organizations -- Keep A Child Alive (http://www.keepachildalive.org/) is an outstanding organization, and a whopping 100% the proceeds from this watch will go directly to funding the Keep A Child Alive sites in Africa and India to save kids with AIDS who can't afford medication.

Oversized Toy Watch is very now, and it's a winning combination. I think any watch lover ought to have this in his or her wardrobe.

Cartier Tank Française watch with blue MOP dial, W51034Q3

First to recommend

Description

Oh, Cartier. Forever classic. A Tank watch was an instant classic in 1917, still a classic when Audrey Hepburn wore it, and still a classic today.

I usually buy watches that would stand the test of time -- that means dials in classic colors like white and black -- but this watch made my heart beat a little faster when I saw it in person.

Cartier hadn't really come out with a ladies' blue dial watch other than limited editions, and the fact they added this to their standard lineup means a lot.

Of course each MOP dial will be different, but the one I saw had a beautiful translucent purple tint. This is a better looking watch in person, and it comes with a little bonus of being different and classic at the same time. (via Cartier)

Hello Kitty 2009 Limited Swarovski Watch

2 people recommended this item

Description

OK, so in another recommendation I said I buy watches that stand the test of time, but as an avid Hello Kitty fan (understatement), I couldn't let this one pass by me!

The somewhat translucent pink version is obviously cute, but I'm not a pink person, and as an ode to J12, I got it in white. In Japan they actually have brown tortoise shell color band version as well, with a black MOP dial -- a little less syrupy sweet and more understated, but if you're going for a Hello Kitty bling, you might as well go for the biggest bang.

It's so over the top, I love it with my casual wear on weekends.

Ballon Bleu de Cartier Flying Tourbillon

First to recommend

Description

As a watch lover, sometimes I wish I were a man. Watchmakers tend to pour more time and money into men's models, and though a jeweler, Cartier is no exception.

Ballon Bleu is my favorite new model at Maison Cartier, and the Flying Tourbillon is top of the line -- the first Cartier watch to bear the Geneva Seal with 19 jewels 9452 MC Calibre movement.

It doesn't hurt that it's beautiful, either. Sigh. (via Cartier)

Hello Kitty Ceramic Watches by Kimora Lee Simmons

First to recommend

Description

Another must-have for Hello Kitty fans! These are nicely finished in ceramic with a Swiss movement -- my faves have to be the white ceramic version with no diamonds (clean look), as well as the black/black MOP dial version with diamonds for clubbing and bar hopping :-) (via Kimora Lee Simmons for Hello Kitty)

Alessi x Seiko Luna Watch by Alessandro Medini

First to recommend

Description

I love home accessories by Alessi, and Seiko has proven itself as a great quartz watch company, so, if you're picking a reasonably priced quartz watch with aesthetics in mind, the collaboration between Alessi and Seiko is a no brainer.

Luna Watches are my favorite -- visually it's interesting as the center sinks a little bit, and the design is very, very clean. (via Alessi)

Nixon Cannon Watch

First to recommend

Description

I go high and low, men's and women's to find watches to my liking, and lately I've liked designs from Nixon watches. Clean & somewhat retro. I tend to like their men's watches' designs more, and The Cannon is no exception. I think it's cool for a girl to wear bigger watches anyway.

And since they're surfers' watch, they usually tend to have more than adequate (100 m) waterproofing, and apparently they're pretty tough. At the more than reasonable price tag of around $100, I'm sold. (via backcountry.com)

Nixon Graduate Watch

First to recommend

Description

Another men's Nixon watch I'm digging right now -- I actually own this one, The Graduate, and I love its 60's TV style face and the green-ish yellow-ish beige face. Goes so well with the band, and the little detail that the second hand is brown too is a nice touch.

It looks gigantic on my 5.5 inch wrist, but still very cool looking. Because of the numerous holes on the band, it fits a smaller wrist with no problem. (via backcountry.com)

Nixon Small Player Watch

First to recommend

Description

While Nixon makes many cool watches, this Small Player watch is the only women's model that speaks to me (right now at least). It's basically a smaller iteration of their men's Player watch, but Small Player has a purple dial option with antique finish band. Love <3 (via backcountry.com)

Sunny yellow is super hot this spring! It's a perfect pick-me-up color after the cold winter, esp. here in Seattle. I say you...
