Oakley A-Frame Polarized Goggles

First to recommend

Description

I got a pair off these last weekend. Expensive, but ya gotta have polarization when riding in the bright sun reflecting off the fresh powder. Can't wait for the season to get under way!!

Giro Fuse Snowboard Helmet

First to recommend

Description

It's amazing how far snowboard helmets have come. My last one was about 10 years old and well, it was starting to smell a bit funny. This new Gyro Fuse I just picked up last weekend has a vent that opens half or all the way controlled by one dial, and another dial adjusts how tight it fits. Comfy!

Ride Yukon Snowboard - Wide

First to recommend

Description

Sure my Yukon is a few years old and doesn't have the latest graphics. Sure it took a few hits during last years poor-snow season. Sure it took a couple days to get used to the feel of the ride. But once I got it dialed in, this is a fine board, fit for carving up harder snow, and most at home floating over bottomless Kirkwood powder.

Burton Mission Snowboard Bindings

First to recommend

Description

A nice all-purpose binding. Sure you can't get in them quite as fast as the competing Flows, and Russ might poach your line. But you're going to be more stable in the Missions, and you'll be able to pass that poacher before he gets to the sweetest pow in the trees down by the Hole in the Wall. See, I don't mind telling you where, cause I'm gonna get there first!

Backcountry Access Tracker Avalanche Transceiver

First to recommend

Description

On a good powder day you have to be on one of the first chairs up to get the good stuff. The rest of the day may still be fun, but there is nothing in the world like riding untracked powder. The only dependable way to get first tracks is to hike into the backcountry. You need the right avalanched safety equipment to travel this country safely, and an avalanche transceiver is the cornerstone of this equipment.

Black Diamond Deploy 7 Snow Shovel

First to recommend

Description

Backcountry skiing and snowboarding requires some specialized equipment for avalanche safety. The avalanche transceiver will help point out where a buried buddy may have ended up, but you're going to need this shovel to dig them out.

Voile Tourlight Probe

First to recommend

Description

This probe is part of the safety equipment you need to travel through avalanche territory. The avalanche transceiver is used to approximate the location of a buried victim, and you use this probe to pinpoint their location. Then you better have a shovel too to get them dug out as quickly as possible.

Arc'Teryx Sigma AR Jacket

First to recommend

Description

Arc'Teryx jackets are almost ridiculously expensive, but then you try one on and realize they are somehow worth it. No technical detail is ignored, and no expense avoided to bring us the best technical outwear on the market.

Apple 160 GB iPod classic (Black)

First to recommend

Description

I've had my old 40GB iPod for 3 years now, and it still runs strong. However the battery life has never been enough for a really long day at work, let alone 2 if I forget to charge it at night, and my music collection long surpassed it's capacity ages ago. 160 GB would hold all my music and a few movies for the occasional plane trip. Better yet, it could store photos from the camera when I'm travelling.

Burton Cargo Shell Pants

First to recommend

Description

Even though I've been trying to get away from buying mostly Burton gear, they really do make some nice stuff. I like these pants because they have lots of pockets for carrying stuff, and they are shell only, so you can wear them alone on a warm day or with a fleece on a cold day.
