WildChild Indigo Denim T-Shirt - Sidney Lo Edition

First to recommend

Description

Steve just picked up one of these, and it's supremely weird and awesome!

First off, it really is a t-shirt. Made out of denim. Lightweight denim (7 oz) but still....it's made of denim. And it's raw, so the longer we wears it, the more it's eventually going to fade like a pair of jeans.

Incredibly odd, but also incredibly cool. Another win from San Francisco's Self Edge.

From their site:

* 100% Pure Indigo Dyed Denim / White Oak Black Seed Cone Denim
* Pima Cotton Fill Denim
* Sanforized Denim (will not shrink much)
* Tan Leather Hang Tag
* V-Neck Design

Photographer Sidney Lo, the man behind the What Are You Wearing Today? project and a forthcoming book in conjunction with the online fashion community Superfuture brings his signature touch to the Wild Child Denim T-Shirt, a V-Neck Edition.

The famous denim t-shirt by Wild Child, if you're here reading this, you probably have been following the progress surrounding this release. Almost one year of edits and remakes later, Wild Child delivers the world's first denim t-shirt.

A 100% pure indigo dyed pima cotton denim with a tan leather hang tag make up this first product release from Wild Child & Co.

The denim really comes to life and softens up quite a bit with some wear and washing, and will fade and age just like a pair of jeans (and so will the tan leather tag). Due to the weave and shade of the denim, this t-shirt doesn't look as crazy as it sounds once you've worn it.

The shirt's fabric was cut on a bias and therefore the weave of the denim appears diagonally as opposed to vertically, this was done so that the denim would stretch sideways just like a normal t-shirt does.

Colour Of The Day 7 T-shirts

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

"An investigation into colour associations and their relationships to specific days of the week. The survey was conducted where the following question was posed to 75 people from 20 different countries: what colour do you associate with each day of the week? The result is a series of t-shirts, one for each day of the week, the colour of each having been selected by majority vote. The shirts could either be worn according to the calendar days, or more intuitively, according to the actual mood of the wearer."

This is the sort of odd, left-field thinking that we really do love. And as much as we talk about color every single day, it appeals to our inner design nerd.

Sweet!

Venetian Blind T-Shirt

4 people recommended this item

Description

...and once again, the Japanese show us why we love them so much that we have fetishized their culture.

A simple enough design...black line art of venetian blinds on a white t-shirt. Except that the hanging cord isn't screened, it's an actual cord. And when you pull it....the bottom of the shirt lifts up.

Brilliant? You bet. An excuse to show off those abs that you so meticulously maintain? Oh, absolutely...

I Like To Say Things and Eat Stuff T-shirt

You know, sometimes trying really hard to be witty just derails whatever point you were trying to make.

So keep it simple with this shirt, which says everything you need without really saying a damn thing at all. :)

An excellent example of simple and well-executed t-shirt design!

Not a lot going on here, but the simple black image of these crazy-enlarged feathers shows you all the detail you never noticed before on a slim-cut, uber-soft cotton women's tee.

Public Domain is quickly becoming one of our favorite t-shirt companies!

Kidrobot - Halter Dress Yellow/Green

First to recommend

Description

Kidrobot has been mucking about in the fashion industry for a few years now, and their collection largely tends towards the "we're going to dress you like giant toys" aesthetic.

But this halter dress is fricken' adorable. Granted, we may just be smitten with the model. But it's a great piece, and the colors are right-on for keeping yourself in that springtime mood.

Iron Heart - 9634 Super Black Denim

First to recommend

Description

From Self Edge:

Iron Heart have taken their very popular 634s Straight Leg jean and done it up in their newest creation of heavy weight denim, The 22oz Super Black.

Same fit as the 634s but a totally different feel because the new 22oz Super Black denim is rigid feeling as opposed to the soft hand that the 634s selvedge comes in. All black stitch, arcuates, threads, and leather tag round out this piece.

The cut on the 634S is a golden one, it's not too slim and not too relaxed, that perfect in between for a flattering look from top to bottom with a perfect sized leg opened for stacking or cuffing.

From Shoparooni:

Oh, how many days and nights have been spent in search of the perfect pait of black jeans!? Something that isn't cut to accommodate someone who must smuggle watermelons in their crotch, or have legs the size of tree-trunks. Something that isn't so tight and skinny that you need a heroin addiction just to pull them up to your knees. Something that is a slimmer cut, without requiring that model-perfect body that none of us have?

Thank you, Iron Heart. The cut on these jeans is beautiful, and with the denim coming in at 22 ounces (that's at least TWICE as thick as any pair of jeans you've ever owned, we promise) these are built to last forever.

Like armor. Black denim armor.
