Russian Flashcards: English-Russian
First to recommend
Description
For anyone learning Russian (like myself) flashcards are the best way to accompany your routine. Once you've got the alphabet down and can pronounce each letter -- of which there are TONS in the Russian alphabet -- flashcards make for a great entree to knowing what objects are in Russian. I know I want them!

"The Adventures of Cheburashka and Friends" DVD
First to recommend
Description
This is a CLASSIC. Any kid who grew up in Soviet-era 1970s or 1980s will immediately know Cheburashka. He is of indeterminate origin, was discovered in a box of oranges (SO adorably absurd), has an accordion-playing crocodile named Gena as a best friend, and has huge floppy ears and a sweet, earnest face. He's cute, fuzzy and the stop-motion can't be beat. There's a wee bit of propaganda thrown in there, but it's NOT heavy handed, and it usually has to do with helping out others and power to the people. Cause hey, what WASN'T rife with propaganda in the Soviet Bloc? This is the perfect gift for parents who want their children to see quality animation from other world cultures and styles---animation that has heart and character but DOES NOT come out of a major US studio. Dogfish Head - Punkin Ale
First to recommend
Description
I've tried many Pumpkin ales over the years, and have never tasted one I actually liked, until this one. Well-balanced with an almost creamy texture at first, this is a great pumkpin ale that goes down smooth. Just enough notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and malt make this very easy to drink. Also, it's not too bitter; it's juuuuust right!

Sci-Fi geeks, unite! With your very own FRAK mug. For fans of Battlestar Galactica, this is a perfect gift. And I imagine a good conversation starter around the coffee pot at work for those who do not know what FRAK means. Or, is supposed to mean! (via nbcuniversalstore.com)
