I'm tired of seeing cheap-looking, mass-marketed Halloween costumes, so I've decided to see what else is out there. My thought is, if you are going to dress up, you should go all out.

This costume is freakin' hilarous! Luckily, for my dog he's too big for this particular costume. Honestly, I don't think I would do this to him anyway. However, for those of you out there that do dress up your pooches on special occasions, to each his or her own. (via ebay.com)

It would be a dream to own a mask like this. It reminds me of some of the nightmarish figures in medieval painter Hieronymous Bosch's works. This stunning, bird half-mask will make people do double takes!

Description
This is the type of show-stopping accessory that would absolutely make a Dorothy costume. They are made from standard leather heels, but made amazing by the level of detail. They are covered with approximately 1,800 6mm sequins! The description says the sequins are laid in the pattern of the originals. The sequins are also anchored with a flexible leather glue, which allows for full foot mobility. Even the bows are made to match those on the original shoes. I could go on about how this is done, but I'm thinking that would be excessive for the purposes of this recommendation.
