About this list:

Hopefully, this list isn’t about shameless consumerism. I’d just as soon promote Wikipedia, which is endlessly giving and absolutely free. I hope some of these items actually help one consume LESS, by being worthy of revisiting, by being more efficient and self-contained, or by helping you do what you do better. After all, it’s about your life, not the product.

Basically, this is a collection of Mort Drucker pieces. Sitting and staring at his work in Mad was a big chunk of my childhood. Something about his stuff represents to me what drawing’s all about. That goes for Jack Davis, too, and most of those 70s Mad guys. (via Amazon)

I know how most animators feel about “acting”, so this is the most accessible, least bullshitty book I know on the subject. For more, I’d look into Mamet’s and Hagen’s books. (via Barnes & Noble)

The happiest I’ve ever been with an automatic, plus the movie files have now rendered my camcorder obsolete. I used it to storyboard a short film and wouldn’t mind terribly shooting one with it.
