Monteverde Pen

First to recommend

Description

This is my current mechanical pencil, by italian maker Monteverde. This is a short pen which means it can be stuck in a pocket but is wide enough to hold really well between you fingers. Short and stubby I call it, and because it uses these incredibly wide 5.6mm lead, it's the perfect pencil for sketching, doodling, and the best companion my moleskine notebook has ever had. Pinky Fruity Candy

First to recommend

Description

One box of Pinky Mandarine Orange Mint. I love pinky candy. I came across them while travelling to japan, and I bought something like 10 boxes while in LA a few month ago. This is my last box, so I will have to find a new supplier soon. I just love the little pinky monkey, and there is usually a single monkey shaped candy in each box. (via oO's very eclectic)

Sumajin Smartwrap

Description

Saw the recomendations on ThisNext and bought some through Amazon. I'm glad I have them and would recommend them to others, but wish the ends closed a little tighter to better secure stiffer cords.

Warning: Do not purchase these from "IGgFactory Handhelditems" (an Amazon vendor). They only sent me half my order and never responded to any of my emails through Amazon or their own web site even though I provided my cell phone. When I posted about this on Amazon, they started sending me money offers to take down the negative feedback. Too late.

ZIP-LINQ Retractable Cable

First to recommend

Description

Thankfully, more and more of my electronic devices no longer have a separate plug for charging but will charge using a mini-usb cable. Which means that I can re-use the same cable for a lot of devices, and not bother bringing separate chargers with me.

The added advantage of the zip-linq is how it coils back into itself, which has earned it a place in my gizmo bag. (via oO's very eclectic)

HOLUX GPSlim 236

First to recommend

Description

As part of my What's in my bag series. Yes, I admit I have a GPS in my backpack. Which means that if I want to, I can have the exact coordinate of my position on earth, with a precision of a few meters, and still be completely lost. The GPSlim was one of the first pocket sized bluetooth GPS with the new SirfIII chipset, which gives it greater accuracy, and the ability to work within "Urban Canyons" (who inventes these terms?) which means that I can use it int the city as well as on trips, where I can annoy my wife by taking bearings of interesting sites while on vacations.

The bluetooth part means that I can connect to it from my phone, a laptop, and my new phone as soon as I can convinced my self that an upgrade is no longer just a fantasy, but justified. (via oO's very eclectic)

Description

Found in a great little shop on Abbot-Kinney in LA, this japanese import is a great little pouch for a cellphone/ ipod / digital camera. The felt keeps it warm and safe from scratches, and the interchangeable belt clip and hook let's you carry it with you or attached to your bag. (via oO's very eclectic)

Lamy Scribble

First to recommend

4 people recommended this item

Description

There is something to be said about the feel of a well crafted pen or pencil when writing by hand, and LAMY certainly knows how to make nice pens. My favorites are the Scribble series. I have all 3 of them in silver and black. These are short but fat pens, 2 mechanical pencil in a 0.7mm when I'm thinking with the right side of brain, and another with a wonderfully thick 2.5mm lead for the left side. (yes, I know the whole right side, left side has been refuted scientifically but it still sounds really good). The third one is an roller pen, which I'm keeping around to sign important documents. Perfect companions for a little black Moleskine notepad.

AXIO Mini Backpack

First to recommend

Description

This is my current backpack, small enough to bring to work everyday, and roomy enough to fit all my technological essentials around. It's available in different colors, but I picked the slick titanium silver finish, which is surprisingly durable. After almost 2 years of wear and tear, I only have a few faint scratches on the finish, which if I was not too lazy, I could probably buff out.
