Great Stuff for Braces and Beyond
First to recommend
Description
I am 26 years old and have braces on my teeth. As you can imagine, it's not easy having braces at my age. But I found a product and a website that I have found invaluable: Dentakit.com! The website sells a kit that they call their Braces Survival Kit. It has been a real lifesaver for me in many social situaions. The kit is small and really handy. I especially love the unique folding cup and the individually wrapped special dental floss. The website carries other stuff, too, like really good dental wax, toothbrushes for braces (which I can never find in stores), and all sorts of nifty gadgets. If you have braces on your teeth you HAVE to check out this website!

ACT Fluoride Anti-Cavity Mouthwash
First to recommend
Description
Cavity prevention is very important when you have braces. I rinse with ACT fluoride rinse every night after brushing and flossing my teeth. My dentist tells me that my teeth are in great shape. I have peace of mind knowing that I'm doing everything to keep my teeth healthy while these braces are still on them. ACT comes in a variety of flavors. There is even bubblegum flavor for kids! The mint flavors are very refreshing and there is no bitter aftertaste.

When I was looking for a waterpick device, I thought, "gee, I wish I could just hook up a tip to my faucet." Turns out, somebody already thought of that! I love my Oral Breeze pick. It is attached to my bathroom sink faucet and is really easy to use. It doesn't get in the way or anything. It's really great for people with braces!

ArchWired - A site for adults with orthodontic braces
First to recommend
Description
When I was going to get my braces, I naturally turned to the web for some insight. Wow, did I get insight. Archwired.com has loads of practical information for adults (or really anybody) who has braces or is thinking about getting them. The website has a terrific message board and the people there are really helpful. When my teeth were hurting and I was scared, they were so supportive of me. I don't think there's another place on the web like it.

Tip-a-Dent Dental Pick
First to recommend
Description
I love this little dental pick. It has a rubber tip on one end and a spiral brush on the other end. Both are replaceable and you can buy the replacement parts. But the original ones that come with it last for a really long time. They are really durable. I have a few of these and keep them in various places (my purse, my car, etc). When you have braces, you need to keep little tools around "just in case." Who wants to walk around with a big hunk of chicken stuck in their braces? Yuck!

Sonicare - Products

Description
I was using my Sonicare toothbrush before I got my braces and wasn't sure how it would work after the braces went on. But no worries -- it cleans my teeth and brackets really well. I have to replace the brush head every couple of months, but it's worth it. You can find cheaper brush heads sometimes at places like Costco or watch for sales from your local drugstore.

OrthoSil Silicone Dental "Wax" for Braces

Description
Unlike regular dental wax, Ortho-SIl is made from silicone and doesn't fall apart on your brackets after a few hours. I smooshed it all over my braces at first. It was a life saver! The only thing is, your braces have to be really dry for it it stay on. But once you get the hang of it, it is awesome!
