Description
We are building a backyard for Jack+Jill, my crazy puppies... I want to cover it with SynLawn... It looks like grass, feels like grass and absorbs piddle like grass... it MUST be grass...
Plus, no weird yellow rings from dog whizz and no bulky lawn equipment to purchase. (via Alyson)

Description
Love the portability of this container. Also, it's better to grow above ground if you don't know what's lurking in your soil (well, that's how it goes for L.A./city gardeners, anyway).
Good for cold climate gardeners who need to bring plants inside on frosty nights, too. (via Daily Candy)

Description
"Eat food. Not to much. Mostly vegetables."
In Defense of Food, a good-for-you and good-for-earth eater's manifesto from food intellectual Michael Pollan who, last weekend in NYT's Sunday mag, recommended that we all grow some of our own food and, several weeks ago, said that rising grain prices aren't the worst thing because maybe, if we're lucky, people will eat fewer Cheeto's. (Or something like that)
