Bottle Opener Key
22 people recommended this item
Description
I recently picked up one of these. It lives quietly on my key chain and comes out at those wild lab parties we throw every once in a while. I like that it fits into my mess of keys and doesn't take up much space. However, it isn't the best beer bottle opener in the world. It takes two tries to get a bottle open - so at the end of the day it wins because you get your beer.

You don't need to be a manly man to drink out of this totally bad-ass mug. (via thinkgeek.com)

J.K. Scrumpy's Hard Cider
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
Hard cider tends to be thought of as a girl drink. But this is mainly because most of the usual hard ciders taste like slightly alcoholic apple juice. Good hard cider is like good apple cider - something that most people just haven't had a chance to try yet.
I tend to be suspicious about products that trumpet their organic status - I was recently in a beer garden in Brooklyn and snorted loudly when a guy nearby asked the beer woman if they had anything organic. Perhaps it was his tone.
This is good stuff. Drink it and you'll be hooked. Drink it and you'll be spoiled for the usual ciders.

Penderyn Single Malt Whisky
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
Single malt whisky from Wales. Doesn't sound like a great idea initially, but once you taste it, you'll be convinced. I've only had this once, but am overcome by a strong urge to go out and find some more.
A friend of mine who was at a whiskey festival recommended this to me and I owe him for that.

Stewart's Ginger Beer

Description
Ginger beer is an exciting drink. You know how actual ginger tastes - spicy, sharp, gingery? This ginger beer tastes like that and it makes you feel warm and tingly. I really like ginger beer and have tried a lot of different brands - Reeds, Goya, and so on. This, along with Old Tyme, is my favorite.
Mix with dark rum for a Dark and Stormy.

Old Tyme Ginger Beer

Description
This is my favorite ginger beer. Spicy, feisty, gingery. I haven't been able to reliably find it recently, but if you ever see it in the store and are a fan of the spicy happiness of ginger beer, plunk down some cash and get it.

Description
I guess you could call this a sipping beer. One of those beers that you hand to a friend to try, wait a minute and then get the "hey, this is pretty good" response. I like handing it to people to try.

Dark 'n Stormy
First to recommend
Description
I love ginger beer and have spent an unreasonable amount of time in various grocery stores and liquor marts seeking out new and spicy ginger beers. Ginger ale no longer really tastes like ginger. Ginger beer is the way to go.
How could one improve ginger beer? Just add rum.
Dark and stormy indeed.

Amarula Cream
First to recommend
Description
My little sister spent some time in Malawi and Zambia a few years ago and found this cream liquor. She brought me a bottle home and suggested that I use it to make Amarula milkshakes. It is reminiscent of Bailey's Irish Cream but with a butterscotch flavor. It is quite sweet and works nicely in a modified white russian. (via My sister)
