Alicia Keys was stunning on the red carpet in a deep blue halter gown. You can emulate the style, but please, leave the faux-hawk behind, you can do much better. This lovely blue dress is great for an evening event. I love the neckline and beaded details - you hardly need any jewelry.

Zac Posen - Lacquer Jacquard Dress

Description

Zac Posen designed Rihanna's Grammy dress, but I have to say the Madonna-inspired tutu didn't work for me. The torso was too long, there was too much bulk on top and in the skirt, and it just wasn't flattering on pretty little Rihanna. I much prefer his strapless little number I found here, and maybe you will, too. Sorry, Rihanna, I still love you. you. you.

Cobalt Blue Strapless Gowns by Laundry by Design

Whoa Nelly! We love your sweet voice and you're as beautiful as a princess, but this dress was not for you. Our eyes were drawn straight to your hips, which unfortunately, are not your best feature in evening wear. Let's try this Laundry by Design gown instead, perhaps it will work better off the red carpet.

Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana looked stunning in a shiny little white dress at the Grammys. Here's a comparable frock, a sequin dress by Manoush. My one rule with white dresses: as long as you don't look like you're heading to your own wedding, you're good to go. Just leave the Miley-inspired pout behind, please.

I have to say, this is another Jamie find that I much prefer to the original, celebrity style. Fergie is such a lovely girl, I don't know why she showed up to the Grammy Awards in such a cheap, boring dress. It is not flattering, interesting, or pretty - the draping on this Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent gown is much more elegant.
