Take it from the cover, take it from the ironic name, this album is unlike any Wilco we've ever heard. It's the culmination of everything great about their noteworthy history. No, it's not my favorite, but it might be their best.

Ambivalence Avenue: Bibio

Biblio, the moniker British producer Stephen Wilkinson is a name I had never heard before today. But I'm damn glad I finally did. His album, Amivalence Avenue is like nothing I've ever heard, bu exactly liek everythign i like. It's mix of many genres that ends up sounding more folk than anything else.

Alaskan Summer consist of that one kid from Big Love and his friggin' awesome girlfriend. I've been listening to this about everyday, It's super fun pop that is made great by Machine of Love. Throughout though, there are some unbelievable harmonies.

There's been a lot of hubbub and hipster anticipation leading up to the sophomore album by St. Vincent. I heard the first single, was slightly weirded out, later listened to the entire album and, well, liked it.

LP: Discovery

Description

Half Vampire Weekend and half Ra Ra Riot, the awesomely title debut, LP is bliss via new wave. It's 10 vaguely inspired, happy songs, with a disregard for everything else. And, it's just what you'd expect from the side project, but in a mostly genius way.

I was just reminded of this album and I don't know why i hadn't recommended it earlier. I mean, yeah, it's super corny. Still though, this electronic pop works for super fun summer music. Not to mention, it's got the guy from the Sleepy Jacksons.

Frankly, I can't remember the last time I was this excited for an album to drop (tomorrow). Really though, I already have it and completely love it. So, this rec isn't anticipation. It's based in fact -- this album is amazing and you need to buy it.
