About this list:
To me Halloween about a lot more than dressing up in flammable costumes and gourging on little fun size candy bars. It is a very important holiday for me and the holloween season is about to begin...It would be hard for me to say exactly why all this means so much to me and some of it seems so unrelated...it's campy, it's macabre, it's serious, it's irreverant, it's blasphemous and deeply holy, it's ancient and it's commercial. Halloween is where I feel safe and happy and completely me.

Has anyone ever seen this movie and not been afraid of the shower afterwards? I enjoy the morbid and macabre and I think I have a pretty good tolerance for horror but to this day, when i'm in the shower with my eyes closed tight against the soap and water on my face, when I'm most vulnerable, I can almost swear I feel someone's presence on the other side of the curtain...and at any moment, Norman Bates is going to knife me to death...
Oh shoot, did I give away the movie?! Yeah, the mom is really Norman Bates in drag...it's kind of the important thing in the movie...Sorry for the spoiler.................
Everything about this scene is part of our collective unconscience, the music, the fear, the bad wig...

Why the the pickledpunk of etsy fame selling off choice pieces of his retro Halloween decoration collection? I don't know but I suggest we all reap the rewards and snatch this shite up before he changes his mind...
Skeleton is printed on heavy stock on one side. Articulated joints. It is 23" when extended. In it's original packaging with only light shelf wear. These bones need a home, won't you consider adopting?

Another awesome neon colored halloween mask from the 70's available through etsy's pickledpunk...just like the devil mask, it is plastic with no cracks and the original elastic headband. I don't know if you ever had one of these molded plastic masks as a kid but they crack and split really really really easily and a vintage mask like this one in this good of condition is so very rare...and the pickledpunk is selling it dirt cheap...

I think it might have something to do with some sort of misplaced nostagalia, but I love the way Halloween decorations appeared in the late 60's and 70's. My mom had a lot of them when I was growing up and I'm sure it has a lot to do with that. But aesthetically, it is pretty sweet...it was all very brightly colored and a little goofy because of the stylization...everything seemed screenprinted in a purposefully blocky way with large fields of contrasting color...This devil mask is a perfect example...these things are hard to find, especially in this good of condition...
