Almond Thins

First to recommend

Description

Description from site:
A very delicate biscuit based on pure butter, candy sugar and ripe soft Portuguese almonds. It was launched in 1886 by the founder Jules Destrooper who used it as a corporate gift-item.

They're not kidding! These thin cookies were given to me in a gift basket. I've searched stores for them because I wanted to offer them at get togethers and parties. They have to be shipped from Belgium. Aren't cheap, but try it!

Update: I found them sold at Fairway in Brooklyn, NY less than $5 a box

St. Urbans-Hof Riesling 2005

First to recommend

Description

This riesling is just smooth. I have a hard time finding it in stores. They mostly carry 2006 or 2007.

Vintage 2005 is just refreshing and great with anything. I like to serve it with cocktails.
2004 is just as good, but I like 2005.

Spectators give it scores in the 90s.

Winery: St. Urbans-Hof
Vintage: 2005
Varietal: Riesling
Country: Germany
Region: Mosel-Saar-Ruwer

Monogrammed Glass Ice Bucket

First to recommend

Description

It's so elegant.
Looks great displayed on the bar top. WS offers the whole collection with monograms, but don't overdo it. The ice bucket only with the monogram works just fine.

Tapas Plates

First to recommend

Description

During my vacation in Aruba, I went to this lounge/bar where they served tapas. I had no idea what they were. When I came home, I did some internet research and found out why they are called tapas. I also found this site surlatable.com which was recommended by the design star winner Kim on HGTV. I saw this site and was like wow, I've finally found a nice set of tapas. GREAT for hosting. For you party entertainers, a few sets of tapas are a must have! They are so functional and a conversation piece - once you learn the history. (via Kim)

Howard Miller Wine Console

Description

Howard Miller has a great collection of consoles and storage cabinets.
I like how this one has a lock and key to it. It also comes on casters so easy to move around.

Granola Snack by Two Moms in the Raw

First to recommend

Description

Raw, Organic, Vegan, Wheat-Free, Soy-Free Gluten-Free. No refined sugar. I got the chance to meet the creator's husband and asked how do they keep the granola together - agave (of course!)

My favs are the blueberry, cranberry, and raisin. I'm hooked. I couldn't believe such a healthy snack can taste this good. I don't feel guilty over indulging =)

Exotic Elements

Decor that gives the exotic appeal. A great find that looks like you bought it at a bazaar while traveling.
