Aroma 8-Cup Cool-Touch Rice Cooker

First to recommend

Description

You should cook more rice. Period.

It's healthy, it tastes good, it goes well with lots of things, and most importantly it's INCREDIBLY EASY TO MAKE.

The key to cooking rice easily is buying one of these hinge-lidded rice cookers. Unlike the more popular glass-lidded models, the hinge top variety lock in the escaping steam, keeping the rice inside moist and fluffy.

Small but powerful, this rice cooker is loaded with features.
It's more than I need, but this brand and model are extremely popular in at the asian grocery store where I shop.

Sanyo ECJ-F50S Micro-Computerized 5-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer

First to recommend

Description

WOWWWWW this rice cooker is CRAZY!
More of a miniature computer than a normal rice cooker, you can use it for rice, porridge, stews, eggs, and all sorts of other stuff.

I find the endless uses for this one kind of daunting, but a friend of mine has it and swears by it.

Bob's Red Mill Organic Grain Quinoa

First to recommend

Description

Pronounced "keen-wah", whole Grain Quinoa is the most nutritious of all grains. It's high in fiber, a good source of Iron, and has all eight essential amino acids.

Quinoa has a delicate nutty flavor and makes a great side for a variety of dishes.

It's also extremely easy to prepare if you have a rice cooker. Just throw in the quinoa and an appropriate amount of water (I find that a 2:1 water:quinoa mixture works well) and you're good to go.

This elbow pasta is great for making healthy, high-fiber mac & cheese, and can be a good way to "trick" picky children into eating fiber-rich meals.

Golden Malted Pancake & Waffle Flour

First to recommend

Description

Want to know how restaurants get their waffles so fluffy and delicious?

They use Carbon's Golden Malted pancake and waffle flour.
It takes and egg and some butter, but these are the best waffles I've ever made at home.
