Instant Chair
First to recommend
Description
The Instant Chair is from FELD (which is from Belgium). Pretty sweet chair made from birch plywood. The interesting part is the way it fits together like a flat puzzle for shipping or storage. Shown is the side chair. It also comes in a dining chair. (via Design Addict)

Mioculture: Bendant Lamp
5 people recommended this item
Description
Jaime Salm took a thin piece of steel and said to himself "How can I design a wicked-nice chandelier while wasting as little of this material as possible". What resulted was the Bendant Lamp, a product so inspiring you get to design it yourself.
With little wasted material and little wasted energy, Jaime has created something environmentally friendly that is made right here in the USA.
You can buy the hardwiring kit or you can just throw up a hook and let it hang from the ceiling by the cord (the on/off switch is 48 inches from the plug) (via Follow Function)

Mikro Man Mars
First to recommend
Description
Chemically milled Stainless Steel, Mikro Men fold out from the size of a business card into intricate mini-environments.
In fact, it was Sam Buxton's desire to create a totally unique and totally kickass business card that inspired the original design: Mikro Man Work. Sam was a struggling product designer looking for work when the idea came to him. A prototype or two later, and it was installed in London's Design Museum. The rest, as they say, is pretty much history.
I know some folks who have the entire Mikro community hanging out on their desks including: the video game player, the guy on the bike, the guy in the hospital, the guy in the Autogiro, and the guy on 'Holiday' (going through security at the airport). Rad. (via Follow Function)

Description
Chemically milled Stainless Steel, the Mikro House folds out from a 12" x 3" flat rectangle into a ridiculously detailed environment. Check out the handcuffs on the bed and the hair in the tub drain. Incredible, no?

Parcel Table
First to recommend
Description
From The Design Can, a brooklyn-based pair of product desingers and Pratt Institue graduates. They are still young, but their talent is already starting to explode onto the scene with the Parcel Table and their line of Self Portrait Mirrors.
Though only three pounds, the Parcel Table is surprisingly sturdy and indeed, quite strong. It can be disassembled into four identical parts and one square surface, which means it stores flat and ships a bit easier than that giant block of a coffee table currently living in your home. Of course all this assembling and disassembling is totally hardware-free.
It can come with an acrylic or wood top and is infinitely stackable. To read more about these designers, just follow the link... (via Follow Function)
